Kate Middleton’s Royal Wedding make-up

Even though she was walking down the aisle in the most expensive wedding this side of the Roman Empire (we’re guessing) in front of billions of viewers, Kate, now officially Catherine, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge, decided to do her own make-up.

Kate told aides that she “knows her own face” and didn’t think a professional could do a better job than her, the Daily Mail reported.

OK, so she might have brushed up on her skills with some private lessons, but on the day it was Catherine who traced her eyes with black eyeliner and enhancing her cheekbones with a pink blush colour and matching lipstick shade.

The royal bride was adamant that her Prince William had to recognise her and also opted for a half-up-half-down hairdo done by James Pryce from the Richard Ward salon.

I’m very much in favour for the smokey eye effect, but having one strong line under the eye has never been my thing. Personally I opt for a 1950s flirty flick on the upper lash line in the day and add black eyeliner pencil to the bottom lash wetline for a more dramatic evening look.

What did you think of Kate’s wedding day make-up?
