Tying the knot this Saturday? You’re not alone, but what about your underpaid bridesmaids?

Every bride and groom want their day to be special and to be just about them. And most often it is. However if you’re getting married this coming Saturday, you are not alone.

According to UK wedding website Confetti.co.uk, 6 August is the most popular date for UK couples to tie the knot this year. But, more interestingly, with one in ten brides worried about being upstaged on their wedding day, nearly a third of all bridesmaids will be wearing dresses that have been chosen to be deliberately unflattering. Are brides really that cruel? Do they not want to have beautiful wedding photos?

The findings were revealed by a national survey conducted by Confetti that also shows a quarter of bridesmaids spend between 21 and 30 hours on preparing for the important role, which makes it one of Britain’s worst paid jobs at an estimated measly £1.50 an hour (if we were to put a price on it…)

Are you getting married this weekend or are you being forced to wear something horrible as a bridesmaid? We’d love to hear what you’ve got to say.
