If we are to believe The Sun, Amy Winehouse was secretly engaged to her on-off boyfriend Reg Traviss at the time of her death.
The ‘Back to Black’ singer – who passed away on Saturday 23 July at her Camden Square home, North London – reportedly agreed to marry the filmmaker after he gave her a diamond ring, and had vowed to put her wild lifestyle behind her.
We remember seeing photos of a healthier looking Amy not long ago and thought she might have been on route to change her lifestyle, but unfortunately for Amy her demons got to her before she was able to fight them off.
Speaking to The Sun an insider said: “[Amy and Reg] openly said they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. They both thought the absolute world of each other.”
Amy’s father Mitch also at her funeral that she was “happier than she had been for years” at the time of her death and claimed she’d beaten drug addiction a few years ago.
Mitch Winehouse is now in talks with MPs about his plans to set up the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charitable organisation to fund a rehab unit to help young people who cannot afford private care.
