Wedding cakes go couture

We all know dresses come bespoke to fit perfectly with the bride’s taste and figure. But with recent weddings like Kim Kardashian and that of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, one key trend for brides and grooms are to get couture wedding cakes.

The bespoke cake is once more taking centre stage in the wedding celebrations. Kim surprised guests with a six-foot black and white tiered creation while Duchess Kate had masterpiece that was decorated with 900 sugar-paste flowers.

To keep up with the newfound demand for unique, one off wedding cakes – only your ideas are the limit – Genuine Cakes have launched a new luxury wedding cake division, GC Couture. Sounds quite fabulous doesn’t it?!

GC Couture will launch in October with a 2012 collection that has been individually and creatively designed around the style and genre of Princesses of our time. Think classic, art deco or vintage; there is definitely something for everyone in there!

The team has also been playing around with new flavours, so now you’ll be able to have Amaretto Fruitcake, rum & raisin, chocolate & coconut and Piña Colada. Yummy!

The collection starts from £600 and are certain to add that wow-factor to your wedding.

Visit www.gccouture.co.uk from 22 October for more information.
