We really hope third time will be the lucky one for Sir Paul McCartney. The 69-year-old Beatles singer married American heiress Nancy Shevell in The Old Marylebone Town Hall, London, on Sunday in front of just 30 guests – and several fans that had set up camp outside to catch a glimpse of the former Beatle.
Having said ‘I do’ the newlyweds celebrated with family and celebrity friends – including ex-band mate Ringo Starr and supermodel Kate Moss – at the reception at Sir Paul’s north London home in St John’s Wood, not far away from Abbey Road studios and the now iconic zebra crossing outside the studios which was featured on the group’s ‘Abbey Road’ album.
The bride wore a gorgeous ivory knee-length wedding dress designed by Stella McCartney, one of Sir Paul’s daughters from his marriage to late Linda McCartney, that had a button detail down the front and on the sleeves. The dress was accompanied with a simple bouquet of coloured roses while the groom looked great in a navy suit and light blue tie.
