Royal bride Kate Middleton turns down US Vogue front cover opportunity

One of our favourite high profile brides this year Princess Catherine – or Kate Middleton – wed her prince in front of millions of viewers in April and has since become somewhat of a fashion darling. The latest to want a piece of Kate is the Queen of Fashion herself, US Vogue editor Anna Wintour who has reportedly asked the young royal to appear in a spread for the prestigious magazine. But Kate’s said no.

Wintour is probably used to getting what she wants so it would have come as a surprise that Britain’s future queen declined the offer. According to E! News Kate doesn’t want to be seen as a fashion icon “both William and Kate feel it would be wrong for Kate to promote herself as a fashion or style icon. That’s not what they are about and they take their royal duties far too seriously for that”.

It appears that Kate is fitting in with the Firm very nicely, knowing that Queen Elizabeth II wouldn’t be too happy either if she chose to appear in Vogue.

Looks like Anna Wintour has to be more creative to get her McQueen on the front cover. Perhaps a tie in with a charitable cause will do the trick!

No wonder though that Vogue want Kate, just look how stunning she was in her Alexander McQueen wedding dress…
