Shamballa first saw the light of day in the mid-nineties when Mads Kornerup opened a store in Paris, and the fashion savvy French were introduced to the collection of ancient Indian and Scandinavian inspired designs. The brand made it big in New York City in 1998, when Barney’s picked up the range, before being relocated back to Mads’ native Denmark in 2002. Shamballa Jewels were born a couple of years later and the collections can now be found in many countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Russia, France, Great Britain and the US.
The cult of Shamballa only seems to be growing, with more vendors of the pearl and twine bracelets, often spotted on the wrists of A-list celebrities such as Jay-Z, Heidi Klum, and Gwyneth Paltrow to mention a few – most provided by Shamballa Jewels we guess…
Now if you can’t afford a hand-made, customised Shamballa Jewels bracelet, there are lots of other, less expensive, brands out there nowadays to pick from. These include: Shamballa UK, Debenhams, Treasure Box and Cutey.
We think they’d make lovely bridesmaids gifts!
