Real florals at a wedding always look great, but sometimes they’re just not practical. Whether you’re looking for something out of the ordinary that just can’t be achieved with the real thing, or even if your groom suffers from hayfever, Silk Bouquets’ artificial buttonholes are fab.
This calla lily and iris petal buttonhole is made from silk and looks fantastic. A truly unique combination of florals for a wedding, this will make a really contemporary buttonhole for the groom or any of your guests. Check out the variety of handmade styles at the website.
I’ve just been checking out Mandy Greenan’s blog. We’ve mentioned her glam Tigerlilly jewellery and tiara range before but I love seeing how it’s been shaken up a bit for the Karen Sabag runway show.
The pic here actually shows a necklace that has been wound through the model’s hair which just goes to show that you can use jewellery in different ways than intended. The Seaside necklace is made from Swarovski crystals and chunky amazonite gemstones – $250.
Autumnal colours are a great way to bring warmth to a wedding ensemble in the coming months, be it on your bridal outfit or in your whole scheme. This Engraved Leaf Necklace from Monsoon is just the ticket thanks to its rich gold/bronze shade and seasonal design shape.
The rigid leaf design means it will sit well on your décolletage, suiting a strapless or square necked gown perfectly. It’s available from Monsoon Accessorize for £12.
Formal hats have gone out of fashion for grooms, but whether you’re going all out traditional, or you’re looking for a quirkier style, they might be worth a look. Anthony Peto’s hat designs are a great idea for Winter, from this top hat, to less traditional trilbies looking great and just formal enough for a stylish groom.
There are some more wintery styles available, especially suitable for a snow set wedding too. Prices start at around £55 from ASOS Man online.
If you’re anything like me, at first glance this picture will have both intrigued and confused in equal measure. The title of this article does, of course, dispell any mystery as to what this gorgeous thing is.
Made from a natural shell material, copper frame and amethyst fastening, this is one of the most unique and beautiful bags I’ve ever seen. Thanks to the natural source of the materials, each bag is unique in shape and colouring. A truly unique piece of design that’s worthy of any bridal style especially if you’ve opted for a mermaid dress. £570 from Net-a-Porter.

If you’ve already seen Pink’s new video, you might just have noticed her gorgeous headpiece which makes a gorgeous look for someone with shorter hair styles. The ‘Stella’ headpiece is by Louis Mariette.
As soon as I clapped eyes on this bandeau dress by Oasis, I fell for it. With a great deal of colour that’s kept classic, this oriental inspired print dress is perfect for wedding guests. I’ve teamed it with muted gold accessories for a little bit of sparkle that doesn’t overtake the main focus of the outfit.
Still haven’t found the right pair of shoes with the right embellishments. How about searching in a whole new way. First focus on finding the right pair of plain shoes with your ideal toe and heel then accessorise with some of the new shoe jewellery at Pretty Pink Toes. Pick from pearls, coloured jewels and crystals and snap on to your shoes. Prices start around £14 per pair.
I’m sure no one needs reminding of how very chilly it’s turning outside, but all is not lost in wedding style for the winter bride or groom. Accessories get lots more interesting, for me, in Winter, with wraps, hats and gloves.
These classic Napa leather mens gloves from French Connection provide a very classic menswear look that’s perfect for formal grooms in Winter. Paired with a stylish overcoat, icy climates are no problem (which is handy, since they look so great in photos!). They’re available from French Connection for £35.
