John Lewis to offer make a bridesmaid dress lessons

John Lewis have taken note in the huge upsurge in crafting and are offering a variety of lessons for keen seamstresses from next year. Including in the line-up witll be ‘make a bridesmaid dress’ lessons which should be perfect for our clever readers who fancy making their own unique dresses for themselves or their bridesmaids. Other classes will include using a sewing machine, working with patterns and making prom dresses.

Jenny Yoo’s 2009 collection is rather corsage-heavy and I wasn’t sure it entirely worked until I saw this ‘Jocelyn’ dress (JYS-376).

In Poppy Red Silk Shantung, not only do I think it would be a gorgeously stylish bridesmaid dress, I think it would also work for a non-traditional register office or civil ceremony. Stunning, don’t you think?

I think this is one of the nicest gowns I’ve ever featured on Bridalwave. I love everything about it. The colour is gorgeous, the style and shape – shutter-pleated bodice and tiered skirt – are unusual and distinctive. Yes, you’d have to have a certain figure to carry it off (and I really haven’t got that figure), but it’s frankly beautiful to behold!
