It’s no secret that weddings can cost the earth, and when the budget’s tight (or non-existent) it doesn’t mean to say the dress has to look budget. If you have your heart set on a vintage style wedding, and want your dress to be unique and have some history about it – it can pay-off to look outside of the more standard bridal choices. Consider going for something previously worn – just the once, or something new recreated in a vintage style, to create that unique look you’re looking for. Here’s some vintage style gems we have stumbled across that won’t blow the budget…
When planning your ‘big day’, anyone in the know or who has done it before, will tell you that choosing a theme which means something to you and your life-partner-to-be is a key first step into creating the most memorable day. The rest is detail – but boy – these dastardly details can rapidly fill up the rest of your planning time (- even if it’s years!) as it’s these little touches which will make up the fabric of your meticulously planned day and will be what makes your wedding day truly yours.

We know many brides are split on whether they should buy a hand bag for their big day. There’s the question of what you do with it during the ceremony and whether it’s worth shelling out money on a bag that will most probably remain under the table for the duration of the day.
While these are valid concerns, it’s also important to think about what you will need for the big day. Unless you are blessed with a celebrity style makeup artist that will be at your beck and call for touch ups, you may need to take some with you.
Some brides also like to have their phones with them on the big day (on silent we hope.) Therefore it might be worth considering a reasonably priced bag, which can be handed to your Maid of Honour for the duration of the ceremony (we’re sure she’ll oblige) and could also make a nice prop in pictures.
We look at the top ones under £50.

I must admit that I absolutely adore New Look’s shoes section. While designer footwear might be a great investment, an indulgent pair of great looking bargain shoes can be a real delight. For wedding shoes, buying a pair for one day is a great reason to save money by looking to the high street.
These silver platform shoes are a great bridal choice, with a bright white-silver shade that’s ideal for winter wedding colour schemes. I love the ruched knot detail on the vamp, reminiscent of 50s pin-up styles. Best of all, they’re a complete bargain at just £20. (Enough of an excuse to buy them in every colour?)
