Newly engaged Hollywood actress, Drew Barrymore, hit the red carpet at the Big Miracle première in Washington last night.
This was Drew’s first public appearance since saying yes to fiancé Will Kopelman’s question earlier this month. Drew was glowing – as newly engaged ladies should do – as she showed off her huge diamond ring which according to sources is close to four carats.
Her beau, Will, looked dapper in a suit and tie as he accompanied his pretty lady up the red carpet.
Where can we find one of those for ourselves?! Speaking of both the ring AND the man of course.

We are not even one month into the new year, but with celebrity marriages seeming to drop quicker than Kerry Katona’s weight each January, Irish bookmaker Paddy Power have chalked up some odds on other famous couples who could potentially follow in the footsteps of Heidi Klum & Seal, Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher, Katy Perry & Russell Brand and potentially (but still unconfirmed) Vanessa Paradis & Johnny Depp.
You’ll get the least in return on your investment if you place your money on Tess Daly and Vernon Kay (that Twitter scandal hasn’t disappeared just yet) who come in at a 4/1. The couple who have been married since 2003 are followed by Megan Fox and her hubby, former 90210 star, Brian Austin Green at 6/1 – Megan and Brian briefly split before getting married in 2010. Newlyweds Kate Moss and Jamie Hince come in on third place with 7/1.
On the other side of the spectrum is royal couple Prince William and Catherine, who at a 100/1 would make you a lot of money if you bet on them calling it quits in 2012.

Not sure if age makes you think about things and decide quicker, or if it’s when you know you’ve found love you just know. Whatever the reason, congratulations are in order to former Westlife star Brian McFadden who is engaged to his girlfriend of eight months, Vogue Williams.
The 31-year-old only broke off an engagement to Australian singer Delta Goodrem in April last year, but speaking to OK! Australia Brian confessed: ‘It’s early (to be engaged) when you think about how long we’ve been together, but not when you consider the amount of time we’ve spent together. We’ve literally spent every second of every day together for eight months now.’
The happy couple met shortly after Brian’s relationship with Delta, who he had been engaged to for three years, ended in April 2011. However, this won’t be the first time down the aisle for the boyband singer; Brian was previously married to Kerry Katona.
Vogue and Brian, who are both Irish, plan to get married in Europe later this year.

Brian tweeted a photo of Vogue earlier this morning, writing: ‘My beautiful wife to be x.’

Looks like third time lucky might be one the cards for another Hollywood actress. Drew Barrymore wasn’t the only actress to have her beau get down on one knee over the holidays, and according to reports Halle Berry is now to become Mrs Oliver Martinez after he popped the question with an emerald-and-diamond ring from Gurhan.
The 45-year-old who has two previous marital failures behind her is said to have told friends that Oliver is ‘a keeper’.
Martinez famously dated singer Kylie Minogue for several years before splitting in 2007, while Halle most recent dated handsome model Gabriel Aubry – who she has a 3-year-old daughter Nahla with – for five years before breaking up in 2010.

Congratulations are in order for US pop star Britney Spears who has done it again – getting engaged that is. The singer and her boyfriend of two years, Jason Trawick, is the latest celebrity couple to get engaged.
American celeb news site TMZ that is reporting that the 40-year-old Hollywood agent asked her father’s permission to marry his daughter before popping the question on his birthday. Britney then hinted to the happening on Twitter saying: “OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!”.
While this will be the third marriage for Britters, it is the first time Jason will don a suit to become a husband. Britney famously married childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas in 2004, then backing dancer Kevin Federline.
We hope three will be the lucky number for Britney.

The Hill star Kristin Cavallari who is busy planning her wedding to rekindled fiancé Jay Cutler has revealed she still loved him when the pair went through a brief split.
After getting engaged earlier this year, the engagement was called off in the summer and the diamond ring was returned to sender.
The pair recently rekindled their romance and Kristin has now revealed they didn’t call time on their relationship because of “love lost” and she has realised that their relationship had to end for it to “get better”.
She told People magazine: “Sometimes, in order for things to get better, they have to end – even if it’s momentarily. And that was the case with us. No one really knows what happened between the two of us, and we want to keep it that way. We broke up, and we were still talking during that whole time.”
“We didn’t break up because of love lost. We loved each other just as much as we always did when we weren’t together.”

I recently wrote that ex-Hill’s star Kristin Cavallari had rekindled her romance with on-off boyfriend and ex-fiancé Jay Cutler, but it turned out that while the two had reunited, the wedding was not back on.
But according to Glamourmagazine.co.uk Kristin and Jay are now engaged for the second time.
After getting engaged back in April, the engagement – and relationship – came to an abrupt end just one month later, leaving Kristin ‘devastated’.
But it appears that the reality TV star has forgiven her ex – and the very public break-up – as she tweeted yesterday: “This time it’s official: Jay and I are engaged again:).”
We wish you all the best Kristin – and Jay.

The Sherlock Holmes director – who became a father again recently when girlfriend Jacqui Ainsley gave birth to a boy – has revealed that he has no regrets about being married to Madonna for eight years, saying the whole experience was overwhelmingly “positive”.
Guy told Details magazine: ”I enjoyed my first marriage. It’s definitely not something I regret. The experience was ultimately very positive. I love the kids that came out of it, and I could see no other route to take. But you move on, don’t you? When you end up with a lot of the things you set out to chase and find that you’ve stumbled into all sorts of hollow victories, then you become deeply philosophical. I’m quite happy that that experience was accelerated for me. I’m glad I made money, in other words. And I’m glad I got married.”

Demi and Ashton are in the middle of parting ways, all set to be the leading stars of this year’s biggest divorce. With this and Kim Kardashian ending her marriage to Kris Humphries, it’s good with some positive news from the world of celebrity couples.
It appears former Hills star Kristin Cavallari’s engagement to Jay Cutler is back on.
The couple split in July after the NFL player Jay ‘dumped’ Kristin after being engaged for only three months. However the two apparently rekindled their romance in September and have now decided to try again.
According to Life & Style magazine Kristin is “over the moon with happiness” and has already told her friends the engagement is back on.
Will Kristin make it down the aisle this time…

While the romance may have been rekindled, it seems the engagement isn’t on… yet…

Simon Bird – who plays geeky Will in the hit Channel 4 comedy The Inbetweeners, has popped the question to his long term girlfriend Lisa Owens in Paris.
The actor treated his girlfriend to a romantic trip to the City of Love, but unbeknown to her it was a well-planned holiday to ask her to become his wife. According to Heat, Simon proposed to Lisa over dinner.
The two met during their studies at Cambridge University and may just end up living happily ever after. Aww.

It was the fairlytale wedding of 2011… Hang on a minute! For Americans perhaps, but over here in Britain who can forget the real fairytale wedding of royals Prince William and Catherine, or Kate as we will forever call her. And as with Kate’s much talked about Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress, Vera Wang’s three gowns for US reality TV star Kim Kardashian are now being replicated, despite Kim ending her marriage to Kris after just 72 days.
The 31-year-old socialite married Kris Humphries in August but have already filed for divorce due to ‘irreconcilable differences’. But what about the dresses? Would wearing a Kim-copy mean that your own marriage is doomed from the start? We’re not really superstitious here so we think a marriage – and a relationship for that matter – will last if both persons involved make a genuine effort every day to show their love and support and be willing to work at it, through dark times and good. So wearing a dress which is a copy of soon-to-be divorcee Kim Kardashian has nothing to do with how your own union turn out.
The collections are already being produced and will be on sale in the US from February. Bridal designer extraordinaire – and close friend to the bride, Vera Wang, is said to have been shocked by the news of the marriage ending so quickly. But Vera isn’t too worried about the ‘curse’ as other dresses she has designed for doomed celebrity weddings have proved very popular despite the way those marriages turned out.

After the (not so shocking) news that Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from her husband of 72 days, Kris Humphries, I thought I wouldn’t bore you with every single little detail about the events but I can’t ignore them completely either (although we are more about happy wedding related news than the sad here at Bridalwave).
Due to ‘irreconcilable differences’ and despite Kris putting a $2 million diamond engagement ring on her finger, Kim has decided to become a single lady once more – and she’s keeping the ring! As we understand, Kris was hoping to get the 20.5 carat diamond ring back from his soon to be ex wife, but looks like Kim seemingly has other plans.
While appearing on Good Morning America, Kim’s mother Kris Jenner said: “It’s a gift – you keep a gift’. Is this a wedding no-no?
Sure we get that presenting someone with an engagement ring is like a present, but in reality it is more of a symbol of your love and commitment to the other person. If this ends , before or after saying ‘I do’, surely the commitment has been broken and the ring should be returned to whoever purchased it? Also, would you want to keep an engagement ring that your ex-fiance/husband gave you? It’s not like you could – or even would – wear it when going out. Then again, it might be completely different story when the ring is worth $2 million…

The news that Kim Kardashian is filing for divorce after a meagre two and a half months of “blissful” marriage we have to admit doesn’t really shock us. After all we’re accustomed to celebrities, fleeting beings as they are, being married for a short while before wanting to see if the grass is actually greener on the other side. But what angers us is how seemingly light they do take the whole idea of getting married and the commitment it involves. Is it all just about a glitzy party, fancy dresses and a magazine deal for them or is do they believe they are in love and can see themselves spending the rest of their time with the other person…? That we don’t know, but let’s take a look at five celebrity marriages that didn’t last that long.
Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese – about one year
Shock rocker Manson proposed to burlesque model and actress Dita Von Teese in March 2004 with a 1930s 7 carat round-cut diamond engagement ring. They wed on 28 November 2005 in a private, non-denominational ceremony at their home and later held a larger ceremony at Gurteen Castley, County Tipperary, Ireland in December that year. However, fast-forward one year and Dita had filed for divorce due to irreconcilable differences. Was Manson’s alleged affair with Evan Rachel Wood to blame? We don’t know, but the two went public with their romance in 2007 and Manson and Rachel Wood got engaged before breaking-up in 2010.

Third time lucky, isn’t that what people say? Actually it doesn’t matter how many times, as long as you end up with the one you love the most and who loves you equally in return, and it definitely doesn’t matter what age you are – as US funnyman Robin Williams shows.
The 60-year-old actor tied the knot with graphic designer Susan Schneider on Sunday 23rd October in Napa Valley, California. This is William’s third marriage and present to see the happy couple exchange vows were directors Steven Spielberg and George Lucas as well as actor Billy Crystal.
Robin’s daughter Zelda (22) acted as the inside reporter and too to Twitter to share some details of the ceremony
In a series of tweets posted yesterday, she wrote: “Let the wedding madness begin! Dad just called @RobertKazinsky and @ShannonCollis my hetero-lifemates at the wedding. Now everyone thinks I’m a redhead polygamist … The wedding festivities rage on but my tired feet are done. Think it’s time to lay in the tub, eat m&m’s and write. (sic)”
Robin and Susan met in 2009 shortly before he underwent heart surgery, which Susan helping him recover. Bless.

Sir Paul McCartney and his new leading lady, American heiress Nancy Shevell, may only have spent a four-day honeymoon on the secluded island of Mustique, but that didn’t dampen the mood as the newlyweds continued their celebrations by hosting a party in New York on Friday night.
The Beatles legend tied the knot with Nancy – or shall we say Lady McCartney – in an intimate ceremony at London’s Marylebone Register office earlier this month definitely made sure that their US based friends didn’t miss out on the festivities by putting on a party at the Bowery Hotel in NYC. Celebrity guests included Yoko Ono – the wife of Sir Paul’s late bandmate John Lennon – and their son Sean Ono Lennon, fellow musician Jon Bon Jovi, fashion designer Ralph Lauren, New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg and singer-songwriter James Taylor.
With Paul McCartney being vegetarian for as long as we can remember, the guests were treated to a candlelit vegetarian feast, champagne and Motown music before the part drew to a close around 1am.
Onlookers said the couple looked so overjoyed and happily overwhelmed by the outpouring joy for them as they held hands and made their way to the car at the end of the night.
