We’re undecided about the news that many brides are turning to evening and black dresses to save on the bridal budget.
We agree that it’s always good to have something you can wear again, but then the tiny (and we mean tiny) traditional part of us thinks white, is well, right.
So we’ve come up with a wedding dress, that may prove to be a compromise. This straight frock by David Feilden is a traditional frock, but we think it’s something that can be dyed and worn again.
It’s perfect for those getting married abroad, in a registry office or even a medieval castle.

While we’re on the Vera Wang bridal bandwagon we thought it only right that today’s frock should be from her fabulous 2010 collection.
And we’re sure you’ll agree this frock really is quite something.
We know it won’t suit everyone’s taste, it’s lime green for starters, but no-one can deny that this organza and silk number has something winter and romantic about it.
We also love the ribbon around the waist, which is going to be a huge must have for bridalwear next year.

Although yesterday was our winter wedding special, we couldn’t resist sharing this gorgeous Max Chaoul dress with you.
The French designer behind some of the prettiest bridal dresses around has designed this gorgeous fairytale dress with sleeves, which we think will be perfect for keeping you warm during your wonderful winter day.
We love the bodice, which is tightly boned giving you a gorgeous hourglass figure, and the gathered A-line skirt is perfect for making that grand entrance.
Buy it now from Browns Bride.

If you’re getting married next winter and still looking for that special dress then this frock by Jenny Packham is perfect.
The straight satin strapless gown has a beaded neckline, which we think gives it a slightly vintage look.
It also comes with this gorgeous faux fur shawl meaning you won’t have to look for that all important cover up.

Reem Acra is known for her flamboyant wedding dress designs and many of her creations are nicer to look at than actually wear.
However we think this frock is most definitely the latter.
Brides who want to make an entrance in style will love this gathered A-line ball room style dress with a crystal and pearl embellished sweetheart neckline.
The bodice is also boned meaning brides will look as slim as ever on their big day without also worrying about the dreaded “falling out” of the frock.

Oscar de la Renta’s wedding dresses are pure fantasy, and this one is no exception. The vertical embroidered stripes add a hint of modernity in this otherwise classic dress from the Spring 2010 collection.
Featuring a ruffle train at the back and made from silk taffeta and tulle, we think this would work beautifully in both a countryside and city setting, but it would definitely need a suitably striking setting to compete with the drama of this full skirt.

We’ve reverted back to the little white dress for our daily frock.
We know they aren’t yet seen as traditional, but we guarantee that in a few more years these little white dresses will be featured in many a bridal store (we’ll we can hope).
And if they all look as good as this one by Mira Zwillinger then we’ll have a hell of a decision on our hands.
We love the slip style of this dress, which is covered by lace tulle that streams down the back to form a mini train (there’s a bit of tradition for you). Team up with sandals and delicate jewellery for a contemporary look.
