If you’re in the midst of planning your wedding, but are fed up with some of the more generic wedding fairs then the Craft Central Gets Hitched wedding fair needs to go in your diary.
Following the success of Craft Central’s first wedding fair in 2011, Craft Central Gets Hitched returns for 2012 – and it’s free! Undoubtedly the ultimate shopping treat to tackle those wedding ‘to do’ lists and to add a bit of character to your wedding.
From ‘classic’ wedding essentials, to the slightly more unusual, handcrafted products on offer will include: bridal fashion; invitations; millinery; jewellery (rings in particular we’re told); Father and Mother of Bride/Groom fashion and accessories; glorious decorations and floristry; table paraphernalia and just about anything else you might want at a wedding. Phew!
In addition, Shai Hair Salon and Powder Puffs & Pin Curls will be there with professional hair and make-up demonstrations, there will be wedding cakes to try by Chop’s Cakes and Sweet Robots as well as music and pop-up photo booths.

Following a very successful first year, the Most Curious Wedding Fair is back, with a second date and location!
First stop is Norwich this February, 11th (that’s this weekend people), before the wonderful and curious descend on East End London on the 31st March 2012. The fair will see over 60 exhibitors gather for the biggest vintage wedding fair in the UK, to share innovative and retro-tastic ideas to make your wedding the most memorable of them all.
A must-do for the not-so-blushing bride and her parter! Just remember to gel that hair and keep reapplying lustrous red lipstick.

It is almost scary how different the correct sized bra will make any woman look. The truth is that over a third of women never been measured and are as a result wearing the wrong size. But there is now good news for anyone that falls into this category!
M&S are holding a ‘Bra Fit’ event from 25th August to 25th September. Simply pop by your local M&S for a free bra fit and you can walk out of there with an improved posture.
And not only will you be fitted for free but you will also receive a £5 off voucher when you spend £30 on lingerie (excluding shapewear and hosiery).
If you’re a bride and haven’t been measured yet I strongly recommend doing this as you’ll be amazed how differently that wedding dress will look on when the girls are supported properly.

Everyone dreams of getting married in a venue that will take the breath away from all guests, but if you can’t afford it for the actual ceremony how about heading to Greenwich’s Old Royal Naval College for a couple of hours of wedding planning in historical settings instead?
On 15 September 2011 the showcase enable happy couples to meet a range creatives from London’s premier wedding specialist who can help them make their day on to remember.
Over 20 bridal companies will be exhibiting, including Mark Seymour, Alexander Whittle Photography, Little Venice Cake Company and Hall of Cakes. Perhaps there will be a chance to taste the cakes too…

Kate and William’s wedding is just one week away, the royal baker has been confirmed and the world awaits to see what the dress will look like. But since our invitation to the royal wedding got lost in the post, we will unfortunately not be sampling the delicious wedding cake on the 29th.
Not to worry though, Tate & Lyle Sugars have dedicated a whole exhibition to the culinary art of wedding cakes, so that we all can get a fix of sugar before the big day!
‘Let Them Eat Cake’ offers members of the public a guide to a number of royal wedding cakes throughout history. Wander around the room at the summit of The Wellington Arch in London (just a stone throw from Buckingham Palace) and marvel at the edible artworks that copy the cakes for the likes of Henry VIII, Charles and Diana as well as a downscaled model of Queen Elizabeth 2nd’s wedding cake which stood 9ft high and weighed 500 pounds.

Here’s a date for the diary for all our Scottish readers. The Scottish Asian Wedding Show 2011 is taking place in Glasgow on 17th April, and will be an exhilarating fusion of Eastern heritage and contemporary Western influences providing the modern bride with a fairytale of vendors and exhibitors at her fingertips.
Showcasing wedding and occasion wear from all over the UK, the event features two fashion shows at 2pm and 6pm as well as live entertainment throughout the day. There will also be an awards ceremony that celebrates the crème de la crème of the Asian wedding industry – handy for picking up info on who is the best. That makes for a merry day out doesn’t it?
Entry is £5, free before 1pm and all Auntijis go free all day.
