In a short three weeks both Christmas and New Year will have come and gone, and it’s time to start thinking about those pre-wedding New Year’s resolutions.
Head to Coventry’s Ricoh Arena, and the Midlands Wedding Show, on the weekend of 15 and 16 January for some wedding planning inspiration. The show will include over 90 exhibitors from the region so there will be plenty to see. And when you’ve had enough wedding planning for one day, take advantage of the other facilities at the exhibition space, including a casino, restaurants and bars.
The extensive display of products and services from the wedding industry makes it easy as pie for you to find everything that you could possibly need for your Big Day, from flowers and photographers to hotels and honeymoons. If you’re pooped after all of that invaluable research then you can take a breather and gawp at the fabulous fashion shows (held at 12.00pm, 2.00pm and 4.00pm daily) which feature the finest bridal wear, as well as men’s wedding attire.

It’s always hard to find that local venue, dress shop, florist and cake maker and going through that Yellow Pages or asking everyone in your area for recommendations isn’t really the best thing to be doing especially if you’re pressed for time.
However, we’ve got good news for North London brides-to-be who can soon visit the North London Wedding Show to get some local inspiration and have a look at local venues, bridal suppliers and everything else you need for that special day.

Yesterday we were getting all excited about vintage and today it’s all about the modern look.
Modern Bride is a new exhibition, which will be held at London’s ExCel centre on the 5-7 November and will offer brides-to-be a new and unique collection of bridal-wear.
Designers showcasing their ranges at the event and on the catwalk include Mia Mia, Alan Hannah, Benjamin Roberts, Enzoani, Madeline Isaac James and Phase 8 on the catwalk.
You’ll also be able to speak to bridal experts by visiting each designer’s stands.
As well as dresses you’ll also be able to find photographers, venues, florists, honeymoons, cakes, favours and accessories. We’ll see you there ladies.

Don’t be surprised if you see an unusual number of brides and grooms around town this coming Sunday – the most memorable day of the year… 10/10/10.
All over the world, the date has been booked up for months, with thousands of couples wanting to tie the knot on the most unique date of the year. According to Brides Magazine over 31,000 UK couples are getting hitched this weekend, with some registry offices and churches opening their doors especially to accommodate demand. Manchester’s 163-year-old register office will be open on a Sunday for only the third time in its history so that romantic couples can say ‘I do’.
This unique phenomenon doesn’t come around too often, in fact only 12 times every 1,000 years. So if you’re planning an equally memorable date for your wedding, there are only two more left this century. Best book that venue post-haste.
