Naomi Campbell and her long-term boyfriend, Russian billionare Vladislav Doronin are currently enjoying their summer holidays in Greece and let of £50,000 of fireworks much to the joy of fellow guests on the island of Crete. Was this also a celebration of their engagement?
The couple moored their boat by the Greek island and a guest at the Elounda Beach hotel said: “Naomi and her boyfriend set of £50,000 worth of fireworks over a 20 minute period. [Naomi] was brimming with excitement and hinted they were engaged.”
According to fellow holidaymakers, 41-year-old Naomi was telling guests it was time to celebrate “their little secret” as she was seen sporting a “most incredible ring” on her left hand.
We haven’t seen any photos of this ring yet, but if the reports turn out to be true we’ll bring you them as soon as.

When you move in the same circles it isn’t unusual that the former other halves of certain couples find each other and decide to get together.
Such a thing has happened to actress Halle Berry whose ex-husband Eric Benet has now married Manuela Testolini, who was previously married to artist Prince.
Eric and Manuela tied the knot in a private ceremony in Southern California on Sunday 31 July 2011 and used the opportunity to announce they’re expecting their first child together. The couple became engaged in November last year after three years of dating when Eric popped the question with an antique diamond ring he’s designed himself.
How the engagement happened? According to Eric he proposed during a romantic dinner when he decided to let Manuela hear ‘Never Want To Live Without You’ – a song he had written for her – by singing it to her and then getting down on one knee to propose.
Berry and Benet divorced in 2005 after four years of marriage while ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker Prince’s relationship with Manuela ended in 2006.

Another week, another celebrity engagement. What is it with 2011? It seems like EVERYONE is getting engaged or married.
The latest couple to show their commitment to each other is Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton. The X Factor judge and F1 driver – who have been dating on and off for the past four years – are reportedly set to marry after Lewis popped the question.
While there has been no official confirmation of the engagement it was Nicole’s father who let the cat out of the bag when he asked the Mail on Sunday “You know about the proposal? Yes they are engaged.” Not sure what the bride-to-be thinks about her dad announcing her great news, but luckily he only had good words to say about his future son-in-law: “[Lewis] is a really nice guy, really down-to-earth. My family all like him. The good spirit is there.”
We thought, while waiting for the official announcement, let’s have a look at Nicole and Lewis’ relationship in pictures…

If you’re a royal watcher – or just like a royal wedding – you’ll be happy to know that we’ve still got one more to look forward to this year.
The wedding between Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall may not be as extravagant as Kate Middleton and Prince William’s big day, but we’re certain they’ll create waves in social circles.
Having dated for seven years, the low-key couple who live together in rural Gloucestershire are set to tie the knot this July.
Very few details have been revealed so far, but a few interesting pieces of information are in the public domain.
The engagement
The couple got engaged in December 2010 when Mike proposed to long-term girlfriend Zara, not long after William and Kate made it known that they were to marry. Double joy for the Queen.
Zara announced her engagement in Country Life, wearing a £60 fleece and jeans, not going for a more elegant dress like Kate.
The ring
Rugby player Mike is said to have designed the engagement ring, a solitaire diamond ring set in platinum with diamond shoulders, himself.
If you’d like to copy Zara’s engagement ring, Hancocks Jewellers have a very similar style available.

The ceremony and reception
Zara and Mike will be wed in Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh on Saturday 30 July.
This will be the first royal wedding in Scotland since 1992 when Zara’s mother married her second husband Commander Timothy Laurence in a private ceremony at Crathie Kirk near Balmoral.
The wedding party is expected to head to the Palace of Holyrood house, the Queen’s official home in Scotland, to party into the early hours.
The dress
While the official dress maker has not yet been named, it is thought that Paul Costelloe might be the chosen one for Zara’s wedding dress. Zara wore one of Costelloe’s designs for Kate and William’s wedding.

We simply cannot get enough of engagement rings, especially stunning celebrity engagement rings!
While the nuptials of Lily Allen are just around the corner, news that Mark Ronson designed the ring he gave to then girlfriend Josephine De La Baume himself made us grin like the Cheshire Cat – how romantic!
The DJ/music producer popped the question to the French actress/singer/model (She’s the one in Agent Provocateur’s saucy spring/summer 2011 campaign) on the beach in La Rochelle earlier this year with yellow diamond. Swoon – wonder how many carats it is…
The couple plan to wed on 3 September at Josephine’s parents’ place in Provence, and Zac Posen is designing the bride’s wedding grown.
As previously mentioned, Josephine is the new face of luxury lingerie label Agent Provocateur’s spring /summer 2011 collection. Other campaign models have included Kylie Minogue, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peaches Geldof and fellow bride-to-be Kate Moss.
Shot by Johan Renck, the campaign is all about curvy women, very 60s and 70s; very strong women, but quite fun and girlie.

This Friday we’re all about fun here at Bridalwave – fun and shiny things. We’ve done tiaras, now our gaze has moved on to engagement rings. But they’re not any kind of engagement rings, they are celebrity engagement rings. We’d like to know if you can figure out who these rocks belong to? (answers below)

4. They’ll be making sweet Mus(e)ic after the actress said yes to the proposal and a platinum 9-carat emerald-cut diamond ring valued at £122,000.

We’ve finally got the first images of Kim Kardashian’s £1.2 engagement ring and my it is a sparkler!
Reality TV star Kim was presented the ring by then boyfriend Kris Humphries last week, and it’s now been revealed that it features biblical inscriptions about the “perfect godly woman”. Kris apparently spent days researching the perfect passages to feature on the band, but then had to keep the jewellery hidden for a few weeks until he was ready to pop the question.
Kris explains: “There’s one verse, Proverbs 31: 10-31, about the perfect godly woman. The other, 1 John 3:18, is about love. It took me a few days to pick them out and research the perfect ones.
The basketball player – who has been dating Kim for six months – also admitted he sought guidance from one of the reality TV star’s closest friends, publicist Jonathan Cheban.
Kris added to People magazine: “I know all her girlfriends but he’s her only guy friend. I wanted to ask him what he thought. A while ago, I called him and told him, ‘I have to do this, I have to propose, I want to do this now!’
“I was going to do it on a vacation we took but the timing wasn’t right. So when Kim was in Miami doing a QVC thing Jonathan came to Los Angeles and we just hung out and talked about the proposal. We set some things up.”

Don’t know about you but we can’t wait to see Kim’s sparkler. The 20.5 carat ring is reported to have cost £1.2 million, and made Kim’s younger sister Khloe joke that it made her engagement ring look tiny.
Khloe tweeted: “OMG I die for you! Kims ring gave birth to my ring! LOL but my ring is perfection. Its from my Lammy (sic).”
To go with her huge ring, Kim has reportedly spoken to designer Vera Wang about creating her wedding dress while guests will include Jennifer Lopez, Fergie, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Kelly Osbourne.
While her sisters were “totally surprised” at Kim’s engagement, the 30-year-old beauty is now reported to be planning a wedding that will give the recent royal wedding a run for its money.
The reality TV star is keen to make her big day more extravagant and spectacular that Prince William and Kate’s wedding in London on 29 April…
According to a source “Kim is planning the wedding of the century. She doesn’t see why a royal wedding should get more attention than hers. She sees herself as a bigger celebrity than Kate Middleton.”
Nothing wrong with a bit of confidence Kim. But while you might be a reality TV princess, you aren’t marrying a prince my dear.

Sofia Coppola will marry long-term boyfriend Thomas Mars – who is the lead singer of band Phoenix – this summer.
The ‘Somewhere’ director will honour her Italian roots and is planning to tie the knot at father Francis Ford Coppola’s 19th century villa, Palazzo Margherita, in Bernalda, Italy. The ‘Godfather’ director Francis Ford is currently rebuilding and renovating the property for the nuptials.
Sofia, 40, and rocker Thomas, 34, already have two children together, Romy, four, and 12-month-old Cosima.
This will be the second marriage for Sofia as she was once married to fellow director Spike Jonze, who she divorced in 2003.

Kim Kardashian has become engaged to Kris Humphries!
The 30-year-old beauty – who has been dating the basketball star for six months – apparently went into “shock” when she walked into her Beverly Hills home to see him on one knee holding a 20.5 carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring. A 20.5 CARAT DIAMOND RING?!!! Wowzers!
Kim said: “I didn’t expect this at all. I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now.”
Kris had Kim’s mother Kris Jenner on hand to help him pick the ring, and the pair celebrated with all of her family after she said yes.
She added to People magazine: “Kris really didn’t want a big celebration, but he had jokingly told my mom he’d be fine if there were mini-horses there.
“Later that night at the party, my mom brought out two mini-horses, covered in glitter, for us. It was hysterical!”
Socialite Kim has previously said she has not been able to find any fault with him since they began dating.
She revealed: “I think I haven’t found one thing wrong with him, let’s just put it like that.”
If anyone out there want to buy me a 20.5 carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring, I’d be more than happy to accept it. Or a pretty Erdem dress… or my own island.

We asked the question “do you tell him you hate your engagement ring?” a while back, which sparked interest with our readers who shared their stories.
Interestingly, new research by John Greed Jewellery (don’t put too much into the surname, we’re sure John is a very nice man and not greedy at all!) has found that an astounding 80% of British women would say “I don’t” to the wrong engagement ring.
There you have it. While men might worry about the type of ring to present to their (hopefully) wife-to-be, it is women who are very particular when it comes to the contents of that little box. After all an engagement ring is something you will be wearing for a long time, and should therefore be something you admire each time you look at it.
The survey also found that one in three women are not happy with their engagement ring and wish they could have chosen it themselves. A perhaps untraditional method, we’re all for getting it right the first time around, so boyfriends around the world looking to propose to their girlfriends take note, there are things you can do to ensure you get the definite “YES!”.
1) Ask her friends and family for help to choose the engagement ring. Chances are your girlfriend has spoken to her friends about what type of ring she wants – even before getting married was even on the agenda
2) Go ahead and propose, but make choosing the ring part of the proposal – or present her with a temporary piece of jewellery and make it clear that you wanted to go choose the ring together as you think it is romantic (no-one needs to know it’s because you have absolutely no idea of what type of engagement ring she’d like).
3) Take a chance and pick the engagement ring you want. Just be prepared that your girl might say “no.”

The celeb couple who are currently expecting their first child togehter, Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy have revealed they plan to get married after Kate showed off a gigantic square-cut diamond ring during an appearance on the ‘Today Show’ this morning.
When host Matt Lauer pointed out her ring (see image below), Kate laughed and said: “It just happened a week ago, I’m so glad you noticed. I haven’t really announced it and I felt like the announcing thing feels so silly, and I was just waiting for someone to notice.
“He’s a beautiful man, and I’m excited.”
Aww how sweet! So now there are three Kate’s getting married: Kate Middleton, Kate Moss and Kate Hudson.
The latter Kate (Hudson) refused to give details on the proposal, which took place in New York last week, but admitted it was “very sweet, very romantic”, and said they have not yet set a wedding date.
This will be Kate’s second marriage. She was previously married to Chris Robinson, who she has seven-year-old son Ryder with.

Twitter is a popular platform to make announcements on. Clarence House even announced the royal engagement between Kate Middleton and Prince William on the social information site. OK, they might have sent out a press release around the same time, but the service went haywire shortly after CH sent out a 132 character tweet last November that read:
“The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton -www.princeofwales.gov.uk”
Now, 25-year-old McFly member Tom Fletcher has followed suit. Tom has popped the question to long-term girlfriend Giovanna Falcone, who he’s been dating for seven years, and decided to share the news on Twitter.
Tom wrote: “Ok, you’d find out from someone else sooner or later so I thought I’d be the first one to tell you………
“I proposed to @giovannafalcone earlier tonight…and she said YES! We are now officially engaged! 
“My fiance and I would like to say thanks for all the lovely engagement messages. 
”
Not long after, he added: “She’s not digging the Star Wars wedding idea … I want the ring back.”
We’re not sure about a Star Wars wedding theme either Tom but for anyone interested in looking like Han Solo and Princess Leia on their wedding day here are a few photos to inspire you.

With news that Kate Middleton has had Princess Diana’s – now Kate’s – Ceylon Sapphire engagement ring resized to stop it falling off, we thought we’d look at the story behind the precious gem.
The beauty is set to marry Prince William in two weeks’ time, 29th April, and was given the prince’s late mother’s ring when he popped the question while on holiday in Kenya last year.
Two princes, one ring
Apparently it was the younger Prince Harry that inherited the ring in 1997 after Diana’s death, but when he knew the proposal to Kate Middleton was imminent he wanted Prince William to have the ring as he felt the engagement band should belong to the future Queen of England.
Kate’s ring
Estimated to be worth £32 million the ring focus is a 12 carat, oval cut Ceylon Sapphire and was chosen by Princess Diana of Wales for her own engagement in 1981. The particular vivid shade of the gem is called Cornflower Blue and is surrounded by 14 diamonds on a thin gold band.
The story behind a Ceylon Sapphire
Blue sapphires of Sri Lanka that occur as pebbles in the river basins are among the largest sapphires in the world, weathered and rolled by the streams they travel in over long distances. Much of Sri Lanka’s gemstones, and not just the blue sapphires for which the country is most famous, were formed over millions of years by slow, steady metamorphic alterations, either disturbances in the earth’s crust or the effects of heat and pressure form igneous rocks.
Blue Ceylon Sapphires are elusive and disparate jewels, dependent on the fanciful turns and velocities of rivers and tributaries across the island. Their distinction lies not only in the colour – an ethereal blue, but also its clarity and transparency. The Cornflower Blue Sapphire, like Kate’s, is the most sought after shade.
