Many brides usually opt for demure make-up for their wedding day, but if you fancy just adding a touch of je ne sais quoi, yet keeping it classy, the modern cat eye look is for you. I am a big fan of the ‘cat eye’ look when it comes to eye make-up, try to ensure my eyes had a flirty flick as often as possible.
Hot from the SS12 catwalks, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani and Badgley Mischka all embraced the Rock ‘n Roll look which is great for the day as well as the wedding reception. Just make sure you keep your lips neutral to avoid the scary clown look. It’s all about balancing, and why not make the focus on your eyes as well as your wedding dress!
My favourite is the sexy, vintage inspired flick by D&G.

When looking to find inspiration for your wedding dress, the red carpet and film premieres is always a good place to start. The Hollywood starlets usually come up trumps when it comes to style and since walking down the aisle is almost like the red carpet there is usually a thing or two to learn from the leading ladies of film.
At the recent ‘New Year’s Eve’ premiere, actresses Lea Michele and Jessica Biel both dazzled the crowds in a champagne coloured shimmery Valentino dress – Jessica’s a bit more demure than Lea’s mind. Both rocked the old Hollywood glamour and we simply can’t make up our minds of who wore Valentino best…
Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Kate Moss famously opted for a vintage look for her summer wedding to rocker Jamie Hince – and looked stunning in the process. Vintage and the 1920′s is a popular era for brides to draw inspiration from for their wedding and with period drama Downton Abbey causing a stir we’ll be seeing this wedding trend in a long time to come.

How can you be a Downton Abbey 1920′s bride then? Think feathers, Art Deco shapes, long slinky gowns, a bit of fur and velvet! Check out the gallery below for some ideas on how to dress and what accessories to have for your 20′s wedding.

The original (Photo: PA Wire/Press Association)
Before Kate married Prince William no-one really knew who the other Middleton sister was. But when Pippa stepped into the spotlight on 29 April 2011 to fulfil her duties as maid of honour and carry Kate’s train at the royal wedding she – and that now famous derriere – was catapulted into the limelight.
Pippa’s extremely flattering £20,000 bespoke ivory Alexander McQueen gown has since become such a requested design among brides in the UK that department store Debenhams has decided to release its own collection that pays homage to the royal wedding.
At £170 the limited edition ‘Pippa’ gown is available for only a fraction of the price of the original – but brides-to-be wanting to get their hands on one have to be quick as there’s a waiting list!
For anyone wanting to copy Pippa’s green Alice Temperley dress fear not. It is also part of the collection and can be yours for only £99.

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian have set a date for her upcoming nuptials. The 30-year old socialite will tie the knot with fiancé Kris Humphries on 20th August after having enjoyed separate bachelor and bachelorette parties in Las Vegas nightclubs Tao and Lavo later this month according to the New York newspaper.
As expected planning is well underway for the big day, with the mother of the bride Kris Jenner apparently doing most of the work.
Kim’s sister Khloe said: “I have no idea what’s going on. But I’ve seen how much my mom has been doing, and I don’t know how my mom does it! Kim should be kissing the ground that she walks on. It’s amazing.”
According to reports the bride is planning a big wedding, having already invited over 1,000 guests despite not having secured a venue yet. That’s what we call interesting planning.
With Kim’s wedding drawing closer we’re wondering what the bride who is known for her curves might look like on her wedding day. So we’ve found some images of Kim dressed to impress that might give some indication to what is to come.

Emma Watson looked beautiful as walked down the red carpet last night at the world premiere of the final Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part Two, in London’s Trafalgar Square.
The actress, who plays Hermione Granger in the wizard series, wore an Oscar de la Renta dress with grey bodice and a tiered tulle skirt – very much resembling a wedding dress if you ask us…
With this in mind we found some bridal gowns that look very similar to that one Emma wore, there’s even an Oscar de la Renta in there if you want to get as close to the real thing!

Deciding which hair style to go with on your wedding day can be a difficult decision. Depending on the length of the hair and the dress design, do you go with an all down, a bun, a chingon or an up-down do?
Unfortunately us ‘normal’ people don’t get to go to glitzy events and film premiers too often so we’re not lucky enough to have a hair stylist on speed dial who can give us a new look each time. So usually we find a style that works and stick to it.
When it comes to bridal hair, a good source of inspiration is to look at those who do have stylists at their beck and call: the celebrities. We’ve done a little gallery of some of the leading ladies, including the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate – do let us know which one is your favourite by leaving a comment below!

It’s not exactly the Galliano dress Kate Moss wore when she tied the knot to Jamie Hince, but we think the Firenze wedding dress by Phase Eight is a pretty good substitute to Mrs Hince’s dress if you haven’t got John Galliano on speed dial. And it is a fraction of the price as well we’re guessing!
The ivory wedding dress with golden embellishment certainly has a vintage twist and for only £375.00 it’s not badly priced either.

All eyes may have been on older sister Kate for the royal wedding, but Pippa Middleton got her fair share of the attention. Media – and men – first took note of the Maid of Honour in her ivory Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress, and later when Pippa wore a green Temperley gown for the reception. But did you see her shoes?
Pippa wore a pair of Aruna Seth bridal shoes, more presicely the Lynn heels in silver and Swarovski crystals. Due to popular demand – like her sister Pippa is turning into a style-queen – the Lynn design is now also available in gold and ivory, and can be yours for £525.00

OK, so this isn’t your normal Bridalwave story but Cheryl was once married to footballer Ashley Cole and Nicole is in a long-term relationship with beau Lewis Hamilton and is likely to be heading down aisle in the future. See we’ve now justified writing about Cheryl and Nicole!
Biggest story from celebrity La La land this morning is the shocking news that Cheryl Cole has been sacked as a judge from the US X Factor, almost before the show has got off the ground. The Northern lass has apparently appeared in a few of the auditions which have been filmed, but has now been given three Xs by Simon Cowell who is bringing in former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger to take Cheryl’s place. According to reports a reason for Cheryl’s swift departure is a worry that American contestants and viewers won’t be able to understand her Geordie accent… Could just be the lamest excuse ever.
Either way it gives us a great reason to look more closely at Cheryl and Nicole’s style choices as they go head to head in what could be the biggest cat fight this year.

Even if it was Kate’s big day, Pippa Middleton almost ended up stealing the show as she amazed viewers and guests in her slinky cowl neck maid of honour dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.
If you loved the dress so much that you want it for your own wedding – but haven’t got Burton on speed-dial – you’re in luck. As it happens, London based label Motasem Bridal already has a very similar style in their collection.
The Alaya, designed by Sabina Ali, is a flattering bias-cut cowl neck dress made in crepe silk. It is also available with bespoke detailing should you prefer.
Priced from £695, it’s the perfect choice for brides on a budget who are looking for a classy, understated wedding dress.

Ok, we’ll admit that we almost choked on the Champagne when we first caught a glimpse of David Beckham as he arrived to Kate and William’s wedding last Friday.
With blooming mum-to-be Victoria by his side, former Manchester United footballer David looked absolutely dashing in his grey and black ensemble. If you’re thinking about getting your other half to dress like Beckham for your wedding, we’ve got some great news. You can copy the whole look – sans OBE medal – with a little help from mytuxedo.co.uk.

With the world focusing on Kate Middleton and her wedding to Prince William, let’s not forget that there’s another Kate getting married this summer. Kate Moss will be tying the knot to rocker fiancée Jamie Hince in July. But who wins the people’s popularity when it comes to make-up?
New research by shopping channel QVC reveals that 83% of Brits prefer the ‘natural and warm’ make-up appearance inspired by the bride-to-be Kate Middleton as opposed to the ‘dramatic and sexy’ look made famous by Kate Moss.
The study also found that one in ten British women voted Kate Middleton as having one of the make-up looks they would most love to replicate. We’ve heard that Middleton does her own make –up so it shouldn’t be too difficult to do at home!
Will Kate rise to become the style icon of tomorrow when she joins the Royal Family?

Twitter is a popular platform to make announcements on. Clarence House even announced the royal engagement between Kate Middleton and Prince William on the social information site. OK, they might have sent out a press release around the same time, but the service went haywire shortly after CH sent out a 132 character tweet last November that read:
“The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton -www.princeofwales.gov.uk”
Now, 25-year-old McFly member Tom Fletcher has followed suit. Tom has popped the question to long-term girlfriend Giovanna Falcone, who he’s been dating for seven years, and decided to share the news on Twitter.
Tom wrote: “Ok, you’d find out from someone else sooner or later so I thought I’d be the first one to tell you………
“I proposed to @giovannafalcone earlier tonight…and she said YES! We are now officially engaged!
“My fiance and I would like to say thanks for all the lovely engagement messages.
”
Not long after, he added: “She’s not digging the Star Wars wedding idea … I want the ring back.”
We’re not sure about a Star Wars wedding theme either Tom but for anyone interested in looking like Han Solo and Princess Leia on their wedding day here are a few photos to inspire you.
