The Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 bridal collection was certainly a display of old, new and a dash of blue.
While most of the collection featured traditional shades of white, de la Renta wrapped his runway show in two striking blood red gowns, perhaps more suitable for the un-traditional bride…
Some of more old-fashioned white dresses hinted at the ‘something blue’ of wedding traditions, and we’re pretty obsessed with the bridal pantsuit that shows off the midriff. And by obsessed we mean: unable to decide whether it is fit for a wedding or more for a holiday at the Hamptons…
Would you wear de la Renta’s bridal designs?

We’re officially in love. And this time we’re not talking about our hubby to be. Instead it’s Alice Temperley’s Ophelia 2012 bridal collection, which has stolen our hearts.
The range mixes boho, the flapper era and striking silhouettes to make this collection one to lust after.
If you’re a vintage gal at heart, you’ll love the designers Emmeline frock, which emulates the 20s Flapper look with beading and crystals, while the designer’s Kelly frock with its peacock design is great for brides who want to stand out in style.
It’s no wonder Kate Middleton is a fan of this designer.
See the gallery below for our top five frocks.

There’s nothing more exciting than when bridal designers unveil their latest collections. And it was no exception when Vera Wang revealed her Spring 2013 Bridal Collection on her blog.
Inspired by the colour of love, red – which is also the traditional Chinese wedding colour – Vera Wang’s latest bridal range is simply beautiful. Offering fairytale-like, ethereal wedding dresses, featuring lots of intricately layered ruffle and corset solhouettes that give you waists to die for. If you’d rather keep to the more classic ivory, each design can be made to suit your taste, but we love the fiery passion in these gowns.
Which one is your favourite?

As usual Jenny Packham’s latest bridal gown collection is a marvel. Inspired by the golden era of the 1930′s, these glamourous wedding dresses have that Downton Abbey vibe for brides looking for the English splendor and delicate details. The collection will be available in September 2012, so any brides getting married in the Autumn are in for a treat!
Our favourites? Azalea, Mimosa and Petal. In fact we could see newly engaged Angelina Jolie in a Jenny Packham SS13 gown…

Spanish design duo Victorio & Lucchino‘s 2012 bridal collection is a beautiful display. The wedding dresses capture the essence of the tradition and have an ethereal, floaty feel to them. The grooms’ suits are well tailored and may we say the models rather dashing.

London-based designer Sophia Kokosalaki’s debut bridal collection launches today on Net-A-Porter.
For her 2012 bridal collection, Kokosalaki has drawn inspiration from ancient Greek sculptures and the shapes of traditional Haute Couture, resulting in a ethereal collection of wedding dresses. All gowns are named after Greek heroines, and offer a balanced lightness and movement for brides-to-be.
Net-A-Porter fashion director Holli Rogers told Vogue.com: “Her aesthetic totally lends itself to bridal wear and we’re excited to see the reaction to these beautiful, contemporary pieces that offer a modern alternative for today’s bride-to-be.”
Sophia has also designed signature pieces of sterling silver and gold plated jewellery with the renowned goldsmith Ilias Lalaounis to compliment the bridal collection.

The new collection of Spanish bridal designer Jesus Peiro is an explosion of bridal beauty. It mixes flirty lace and feminine details with more edgy, clean lines.
It is all about details, and Peiro has certainly not skimped on the embellishment this season. Wonderfully twisted geometric bows are blended with delicate embroidery and jewels on original cut designs.
Showing a thorough knowledge of bespoke craftmanship, some of the silhouettes are to die for – if you can’t find a wedding dress in this collection, I doubt you will ever find it…
Check out the whole collection here. Jesus Peiro will be previewing the new collection at White Gallery London in May 2012.
