Gifts for the groom

By admin on June 7th, 2006

Groomsonypsp_2Yesterday I dealt with how to create a gift bag for your bridesmaid. Now we all love gifts don’t we? It’s certainly becoming more and more common for brides and grooms to offer each other a gift on the day – besides their eternal devotion!

Of course it all depends on what your guy actually likes but I think the winning combination over the turn covers the popular blokey pursuits of gadgets, alcohol and swanky, useful stuff.

Favourbrook menswear

By admin on May 9th, 2006

Favourbrook_1I bet there are a few men out there who think picking out their wedding suit will be easy – they’ll just drag one of their work suits out of their closet and wear it with a snazzy waistcoat. Well shame on them!

Favourbrook menswear is a fab range of up-to-the-minute formal suits with contemporary twists. With silks sourced from Austria, Switzerland and France they create superior ranges of suits with decorative detailing whilst still remaining truthful to a classical style. Cravats complete the full formal look.

This season’s range follows the long lapel look with low buttoning, single breasted jackets, pastel shirts and classic tailoring.

Marc Wallace groom’s waistcoats

By admin on April 18th, 2006

Marcwallace_1I may have mentioned on Bridalwave recently that weddings have very little to do with the actual groom but I take it back! Marc Wallace have a great range of suits and waistcoats for the modern groom who wants to inject a bit of pizzazz into his outfit whilst still being fully co-ordinating with the rest of the bridal party (and the, er, tableclothes).

I like the herringbone waistcoat brights in pink, silver, purple and blue (blue, left, £145) and the elegant linen range. For more of a statement piece try the scattered diamonds or polka dot lines.

Boutique groom cufflink finds

By admin on April 12th, 2006

GroomlinksIt’s been a while since I featured anything for the male contingent so I thought I had better get on with it and bring you some fab cufflinks by Sonia Spencer from Boutique To You.

Grooms will have a keepsake of the day with the funky bone china groom pair whilst the best man can be reminded of his role with these. Ushers and fathers will also find pairs exclusively designed with them in mind.

One for the boys? Kitsch cufflinks

By admin on March 9th, 2006

Kitschcufflinks

We’d hate for the men folk to be left out of the big day but lets face it’s not really about them, is it?

So, here’s a kitschy little addition for their tux or tails.

Cufflinks.com stock a huge range of you guessed it, cufflinks, with these enamel and silver plated bride and groom pieces coming in at $45 a pair. Are they cool or just a little cheap looking? I think I’m veering towards the latter.

Formal wear – wedding lounge suits

By admin on March 2nd, 2006

Formal3 I do like a man in a good suit and at least on his wedding day, what with all that man grooming, he should spruce up nicely. Now that groomwear has expanded from the traditional tails to the more contemporay tuxedo and everything in between, there’s plenty to choose from. Should you not fancy forking out for a one-off suit you may like to take a look at Formal Affair who have 15 branches throughout UK and Wales.

The chap on the left is wearing ‘Madrid’ a blue mohair lounge suit from the contemporary collection. If you’re struggling to make the groom match the bridal party (possibly so that he’s easy to spot in the event of a getaway?), they’ll even make up a cravat and waistcoat if you provide the material.

The site is also worth having a look at just to laugh at the models. What exactly has put the fear into this man?
