Suit service that comes to the groom, leaving him no excuse

By Andrea Petrou on August 17th, 2009

Henry Herbert_1.JPGNow we know a wedding day is mainly about the bride, after all, unless you’re marrying a prince – does he have brothers and if so can you give them our details – it’s the only day you get to be a princess right?

However, it may be time, even for a very short minute, that we cut the groom some slack and give him a tiny bit of help, and if you look at it logically it could also help you in the long run.

As well as finding your dress, you also have the task of finding your betrothed an outfit, that will not only look good next to your frock but also in the photos.

Now we know it can be hard pining your other half down and actually making sure he makes time to go and get fitted up but this new service will leave him no excuse (see we told you it would benefit you.)

Henry Herbert
is a British’ bespoke suit tailor company that sends out its knights in shining armor, to your groom’s house, pub, work, on a Vespa (well horses are so slow these days) if you are in London , or a train or car anywhere else in the UK.

Each tailor comes prepared with tape measures, chalk and a selection of wools, linens and silks and kits your man up with the his own tailored suit within 8 weeks of the first consultation.

However, you’d better start saving your groom’s beer money as the service doesn’t come cheap. Prices start from £495.

Get this affordable tux for him, spend more on your dress!

Say you were expecting to pay a few hundred dollars (or British Pounds!) on the groom’s tuxedo, but found one for significantly less. Where would that money go? To your dress budget of course!

Just one reason to have him try on this Jacamo quintessential tuxedo, only 70 British Pounds. (I’m sorry, I don’t have the pound symbol on my silly American keyboard, you’re going to have to get used to this.)

If the quintessential tux isn’t for you, here’s a whole selection of Jacamo suits for 70 British Pounds.

Groom, Wedding Cake

The iPhone wedding cake

By admin on January 15th, 2009

iphone-wedding-cake.jpgWe’ve seen a few inventive wedding cakes and reported on the trend for groom’s cakes. Now here’s both wrapped into one with an added measure of geekery (my inner geek thinks it’s kinda cool). Groom Bobby Casey told Gizmodo, “So this is me with my cake. I got married and this is what the wife got the Groom for his “man” cake. I’m special. The woman who made the cake took 18 hours to make this. It was most delicious even though I didn’t want to eat it. Yeah it says Cingular, yeah it’s still awesome.”

The wife? Pardon? Don’t you mean ‘my darling wife who had this amazing cake made. Why, she is wonderful and I’m proud to be her husband. She is special.’

Then “Just thought I’d show you guys this awesome cake that I shared with awesome friends on my especially awesome day!” Again, what about your wife? You did offer her some awesome cake, didn’t you, hmmm, Mr Casey?

Gucci cognac leather formal shoes for grooms

By admin on November 28th, 2008

prodImage.jpgDesigner footwear certainly isn’t within everyone’s price range, but one thing you can be sure of with a high end investment is quality. These Gucci shoes for grooms are made of a stunning, sumptuous leather that is almost edible looking.

They’re a great, relaxed formal shoe thanks to the wingtip loafer shape, and the caramel brown is a really nice change from the fairly staid black alternatives. You can get this pair online from Bluefly for $476.

Raf Simons Tweed Wool suit for the non-traditional groom

By admin on November 18th, 2008

95386_2.jpgWhile the traditional morning suit reigns supreme among groom attire, for the less traditional do there’s a myriad of choice. Not only with the cut of your suit, but with the colour and fabric you can create a look all your own without the constraints of tradition.

This Raf Simons Tweed suit gives a, dare I say it, much more quirky look. Laidback but still stylish and with a degree of formality, I personally love it and think it can be interpreted with a real stamp of personal style. It’s available online from Browns for £890. Not so bad for something you can wear again.

This pair of burgundy with white edging are the most wedding appropriate, without looking dull. They’ll promise to add a flash of colour and a little fun, vintage inspired style to your look when the jacket comes off at the reception. Get them from Topman for £12.
