By admin on June 5th, 2008

man can-700.jpgI know a lot of men who wouldn’t appreciate toiletries however they were presented, but no matter how macho, a man’s surely going to appreciate no-nonsense toiletries in a can!

The ‘Man Can’ includes Fisherman’s Hand Butter, Fisherman’s Scrub Soap, Spicy Shave Gel, Bay Rum After Shower Oil, and a Body Mitt, all packaged in a nice, manly, um, can. Get it from Delight for $44.50.

Summer suit for grooms by French Connection at Moss

By admin on June 3rd, 2008

961442517_fr.jpgIn the Summer months wedding fashion goes through as big a change as the high street, and shedding the black is the biggest step the groom can take into a light, summer look wherever your wedding setting may be.

This fantastic light grey suit by French Connection is sharp, well tailored and sophisticated. The shark skin pattern made from a wool blend is a great way to lighten the look for your photos and, while still staying formal, isn’t too stiff. It’s available online from Moss and is now in the sale at a great price of £179.

Unusual dress shirt for the casual groom from Junk De Luxe

By admin on May 30th, 2008

shirt groom.jpgIf you’re opting for a more informal wedding, then there’s nothing that says the groom must stick to the traditional white shirt. If you’re opting for a stylish suit that has departed from tradition, why not go one step further into originality with this Daniel Fleur pattern print shirt from Junk De Luxe?

Available from ASOS Man, this well tailored number is now in the sale at £64. I’d definitely make sure to forego that matching tie though.

Heart cufflinks by Simon Carter at ASOS Man

By admin on May 22nd, 2008

heart cufflinks.jpgA little bit of kitsch is best left to the more subtle accessories if you want to stay stylish, so these heart cufflinks by Simon Carter are perfect.

While hearts aren’t to everyone’s tastes, they’re undeniably appropriate for weddings. This youthful style is both fun and quirky, while still staying rather understated. In short, I love them. They’re available from ASOS Man for £30.

By admin on May 12th, 2008

56S06RBLK_normal.jpgIf you’re lucky enough to get the weather on your side for the big day, you don’t want to give yourself a headache from all that squinting so sunglasses are a must for all.

If your usual idea of sunglasses style is a little bit outlandish for a formal wedding, then some simple sunnies with clean lines will compliment your sharp look perfectly. That doesn’t mean a huge payout either as these black metal sunglasses from Topman not only look good, they’re a bargain at just £12 too.

Practical and fun gift for the groom from 1st Choice Cufflinks

By admin on May 8th, 2008

MC05.gifAccessories for the groom are less than prolific, especially compared to the endless numbers catered towards the bride. With those that are available, though, grooms can have a great time making the sense of occasion that comes with being all dressed to the nines.

Money clips are something slightly reminiscent of rat pack style luxury and are practical to boot. This music note version from 1st Choice Cufflinks (evidently no one trick pony) is a perfect treat for a groom who lives and breathes music, and it costs just £9.75. Just don’t go waving it around too much or even more of the drinks will be on you!

Fashionable loafers for the groom from Topman

By admin on May 2nd, 2008

77M04STAN_normal.jpgThe traditional men’s formal shoe can often be a little bit dull. Plain black leather and laces often doesn’t cut it for the style-conscious grooms of today. Thankfully you needn’t break the bank to get a bit of sophistication and style for your big day.

Topman’s range of smart loafers are a great option for formalwear, whether you want to make a statement or just stay comfortable on your feet all day. These tan leather brogues are stunning and cost a very reasonable £60. They’re also available in a less conspicuous chocolate brown.

Grattan gets a dedicated wedding shop

By admin on May 2nd, 2008

Grattan.JPGGrattan is the latest of catalogues to put together a wedding shop and there’s a little something for everyone from grooms to flowergirls. However, the brides collection may dissapoint as it appears to be largely a collection of white dresses as opposed to actual bridalwear. However there are some handy tips towards what to wear and what not to wear but really they are just common sense unless you thought sportswear really was appropriate (it’s not).

Pictured, embroidered dress, £99.

Affordably sharp grooms with the Ramsey Dinner Suit from Oli

By admin on April 30th, 2008

18D016OLIP.jpgIf you’re going for a more casual wedding look instead of a morning suit with all the trimmings, you can experiment much more with the look of your suit as a groom. Picking something which flatters your shape and makes you look ever so dashing is a must, but so is being able to afford it.

Thankfully there are some effortlessly stylish suits out there with eye-poppingly low price tags. This Ramsey suit from Oli is no exception. The suit is available as separates (especially handy for getting the perfect fit top and bottom) and costs just £90 in total, meaning it could equally be suitable for any wedding guests at a formal do as well. The best part is, it looks twice the price at the very least.

New trend: Creating the perfect marriage proposal

By admin on April 30th, 2008

Alex ring.JPGApparently some men are paying up to $10,000 to create the ultimate marriage proposal for their lucky ladies says a recent New York Times report. Six trends have been identified including destination proposals with elaborately planned weekends away and ‘capturing the moment’ with a photographer nearby to capture the proposal on film. I’ve put the list over the cut but I’m more interested to learn if your beau went to great lengths to get you to say yes?
