Candle centrepiece

By admin on March 23rd, 2006

AnciennecandleFlowers may be traditional table decorations but we rather like the idea of scented candles sunken into over sized hurricane vases for a gorgeous centrepiece. Imagine an evening reception with the soft flicker of flames casting shadows across the marquee walls with the heady, tantalising scent of rose and lily, cypress or orange blossom.

Ancienne Ambiance, loved by the likes of Plum Sykes, produce the best range of long-burn, scented candles. They make lovely keepsakes for your guests too. £20 including organza wrap and shipping.

‘Green’ Confetti

By admin on March 15th, 2006

Bubbles_1It used to be traditional to throw rice or paper confetti at weddings. Pretty though it may look it isn’t that great for the environment, causes a lot of waste and clearing up. So how about some alternatives to stop that angry official shaking his fist as you scarper?

Two fun alternatives are having your guests blow bubbles at a city wedding. Or if it is in the country, throw handfuls of seeds into the air and a few months later, you’ll have created a gorgeous wildflower feature.

The pack on the left contains 24 champagne glass style bubbles, £7.99 from The Decent Things.
