Create a unique photo jewellery box for your bridesmaid

By admin on November 28th, 2008

photoworks.JPGI really like photogifts. Of course, have too many in your use and it can be a bit tacky, but a few artfully placed ones and job done! This small keepsake box can be created using a loved picture of you and the bridesmaid, a snap from the hen night or anything else you think she’ll like. It costs $39.95 and I’d recommend adding in a little piece of jewellery if you can. Of course this gift works both ways – bridesmaids can make one for the bride too. Check the range out at Photoworks.com.

Adorable timepiece bridesmaid gift from Fred Flare

By admin on October 22nd, 2008

3032_D.jpgA pocket watch is by no means anything unusual in terms of wedding gifts and tokens, but one for the girls is hardly the norm. This cute piece of jewellery from Fred Flare combines a pocket watch and a necklace to give a whimsical gift that’s bound to be well received by the right girl.

I absolutely love the cherry blossom design on the facade, which allows the watch to look like a completely covetable necklace when it’s closed too. On a strong silver chain, this is a bit of a bargain at just $24.

Polka dot hearts by Carol Cummins

By admin on October 21st, 2008

CarolC.jpgI don’t think that the range of hearts available from Carol Cummins have any set task other than to be entirely decorative but here’s what I would do with these pretty polka dot hearts. I’d get matching tags (make your own?) and write or print the guest’s name then hang them on the back of chairs. Later on guests can take them home and use them as door hangers – the hearts are £5.50 each from the Autumn/Winter collection.

Art print as a wedding favour

By admin on October 15th, 2008

Livewell.jpgYou’ll have to excuse me for putting up another art print two days in a row. I’m moving house soon and I’m obsessed with finding new art (not to mention dramatic monochrome cushions, Panton chairs and so much more). Still, we could all do with a little inspiration every day and this would pep me up.

Frame it yourself and give it as an engagement gift or even roll it up with a ribbon and use as a favour. ‘Live well, Love much, Laugh Often,’ You don’t get much better mantras than that – £4.99 at Allposters.com.

I find traditional wedding toppers pretty boring, but I love these handmade toppers by ellef designs on Etsy. They can be customised to match your hair, eye, skin and wedding colors (and more!).

‘Sharp Shooters’ table favours

By admin on October 9th, 2008

TT1491.jpgOkay, this isn’t exactly the kind of thing I would be interested at my own wedding, but I can see how it could be fun, particularly for kids…

The pack contains six blow shooters and 100 paper balls and costs £4.50 from On the Table.

Mini gumball machine favours

By admin on October 8th, 2008

mini_gumball_machine150.jpgI think these mini gumball machines are almost the perfect wedding favour. The only way they could be improved is if they were those little Cadbury Dairy Milk machines that I always wanted for Christmas, but never got (fingers crossed for this year, eh?).

Chocolate first aid box – for every emergency

By admin on October 7th, 2008

Choc Pharmacy.jpg
Forget all those bridal emergency kits with their plasters, pins and potions. What a girl really needs when she’s in trouble is chocolate. You could start off simple with blister packs of 30 chocolate pills (stick them in your handbag) for £3.95 or you could be prepared for every trying moment with a pharmacy in a box, including choccy beans, buttons, squares and bars for £19.95 at Prezzy Box.

Send a love “card” by Biscuiteers

By admin on October 2nd, 2008

Biscuiteers.jpgI hear that cookies are the new cupcake and here to prove the point is this delectable cookie card by Biscuiteers. The idea is simple, instead of sending a paper card, send an edible one that is iced with your own message. Yum. prices start at around £8.

‘Turning Leaves’ bookmark favours

By admin on September 22nd, 2008

turning_leaves_bookmarks200.jpgSince my other job is editing our book site, Trashionista, I love a good bookmark (although I can never find one when I need one, of course) and I also love autumn, so these ‘Turning Leaves’ bookmarks are right up my street.

Wedding memory box

By admin on September 18th, 2008

Memorybox.jpg
After all the hard work you’ve put in to planning your wedding, it almost seems mean to throw all the details you plan to keep into an ordinary plastic box. If you want an alternative, this one is made from sturdy card and has separate compartments inside plus a frame on top for a wedding snap. I think it can do without the bow though – £26 at Store.
