Confetti’s sweetie jar favours

By admin on September 15th, 2008

Confettismartie.jpgSweets always go down well as wedding favours and who can resist having a yummy snack on the way home from the reception? These glass jars are filled with smarties, jelly beans or dolly mixtures for £2.99. I’d recommend finishing them with a ribbon or a personalised tag.

Scented heart favours

By admin on September 11th, 2008

Lovefavours.jpgAppealing to my whimsical side are these scented heart favours that can be strung around your home, car or office. They’re printed with the word ‘Love’ and come in a voile bag but what should really appeal is the delicious sounding scents – baked apple, vanilla fudge, cinnamon and orange or vanilla – £5.95 at Flourish.

Customised cupcakes by TShirt Patisserie

By admin on September 8th, 2008

TShirtP.jpgFancy customising your own favours without getting your hands dirty? Sounds like my kind of DIY! At TShirt Pattisserie, you can customise chocolate hearts and squares with messages or logos but I prefer the cupcakes. Pick from chocolate, lemon drizzle or red velvet, add your own lettering or symbols and they’ll deliver in packs of 12. Yum!

Personalised love story notepads

By admin on September 2nd, 2008

personalized_love_story_notepads200.jpgThese notepads don’t look like much, but I like the idea suggested by Beaucoup: “Invite guests to put pen to paper at your wedding, anniversary party or bridal shower – the moments they capture are sure to be memories you’ll cherish.”

Obviously, you don’t have to use these notepads for that – something more personal would probably work better – but if you did want to, they’ll set you back $2.50 each.

Tim Holtz Idea-ology Adage Tickets

By admin on August 28th, 2008

EP46148132.jpgYou must have noticed by now that I’m a sucker for this kind of thing. Stick an inspirational word on something creative and I am there. These numbered tickets, printed with wish, hope, trust, dream, love, live, soar, giggle, story, adore, play, and bliss are designed for scrapbooking (it seems Tim Holtz is the king of scrapbooking!), but I think they’d be cute as wedding favours, for the cloakroom or as free drink tickets… something like that anyway.

Buy them for just $3.25 per pad of 88 at Advantus Corporation.

By admin on August 22nd, 2008

mla103508_0808_hidden_l.jpgI spotted these when I was indulging in one of my favourite guilty pleasures: Martha Stewart Living magazine and thought they’d make perfect wedding table settings.

Yes, it’s a teeny little message-in-a-bottle. You’ll find instructions on how to make them here.

Building block favours

By admin on August 21st, 2008

il_430xN.25399751.jpgI love the idea of these “little thoughts for your day” building blocks as favours. They couldn’t fail to make your guests smile, surely.

By Paloma’s Nest (one of my very favourite Etsy shops), the hand-stamped blocks are cut from leftover wood pieces and feature the words: Love, Give Thanks, Laugh Often, Be Good, Have Hope, and Smile Big. They cost $9.50 each.

New Trend: Japanese themed weddings

By admin on August 19th, 2008

Japan.JPGIf you’re planning a Japanese themed wedding (perhaps you met there or are honeymooning in the country?) then The Japanese Shop is stuffed full of things to inspire you. A wedding incense set (pictured, £9.99) would make a great and inexpensive gift whilst favour ideas include patterned washi paper boxes that can be filled with mini happiness cats or chocolates or why not snap up the mini zen gardens with sand, rocks and rake for £4.99?

Keep your junior guests entertained with Crafts4Kids

By admin on August 11th, 2008

crafts.jpg
At your reception it’s always hard to keep adults and kids entertained at the same time. While your peers will be fully involved in the speeches and the flowing conversation over dinner, the littler members of the family circle won’t sit still for too long.

I love the idea of a little crafts table early on at your bash for just such a purpose. Crafts4Kids is a website with tons of cheap and easy purchases that you can leave all the juniors to enjoy without mess, fuss or teary tantrums. Order your kits online now from their website.
