Sweets always go down well as wedding favours and who can resist having a yummy snack on the way home from the reception? These glass jars are filled with smarties, jelly beans or dolly mixtures for £2.99. I’d recommend finishing them with a ribbon or a personalised tag.

Scented heart favours

Appealing to my whimsical side are these scented heart favours that can be strung around your home, car or office. They’re printed with the word ‘Love’ and come in a voile bag but what should really appeal is the delicious sounding scents – baked apple, vanilla fudge, cinnamon and orange or vanilla – £5.95 at Flourish.

Personalised love story notepads

These notepads don’t look like much, but I like the idea suggested by Beaucoup: “Invite guests to put pen to paper at your wedding, anniversary party or bridal shower – the moments they capture are sure to be memories you’ll cherish.”

Obviously, you don’t have to use these notepads for that – something more personal would probably work better – but if you did want to, they’ll set you back $2.50 each.

I spotted these when I was indulging in one of my favourite guilty pleasures: Martha Stewart Living magazine and thought they’d make perfect wedding table settings.

Building block favours

I love the idea of these “little thoughts for your day” building blocks as favours. They couldn’t fail to make your guests smile, surely.

By Paloma’s Nest (one of my very favourite Etsy shops), the hand-stamped blocks are cut from leftover wood pieces and feature the words: Love, Give Thanks, Laugh Often, Be Good, Have Hope, and Smile Big. They cost $9.50 each.

When you want chocolate truffles with a vast array of flavours, Montezuma’s are certainly worth browsing.
