It was a match made in reality TV heaven, and the cameras were there to capture every moment. Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were married for a second time over the weekend in front of their family and friends in Pasadena, California. The couple eloped to Mexico in November, but later found out their union was not legally binding. Dressed in floaty strapless Monique Lhullier dress, Heidi dazzled in over $1million of diamonds. Attending the nuptials were MTV stars Audrina Partridge, Brody Jenner, Kristin Cavallari and Lauren “Lo” Bosworth.

But the biggest surprises were Lauren Conrad (above, right), who made a quick exit after originally saying that she wouldn’t be attending, and Salma Hyeck, who recently claimed she would not be renewing her vows to husband François-Henri Pinault because she thought ‘big weddings’ were a waste of money. Well, she’s gone ahead and done it anyway…

Epic wedding exhibition planned at the V&A

By AbiSilvester on April 17th, 2009

vanda-wedding-exhibition.jpgThe V&A museum in London is second-to-none when it comes to showcasing fashion and I’ve just heard the exciting news that it’s planning on a big weddings exhibition in 2011. That may seem a bit of a long way off to be adding to your diaries, but you can still get involved now.

The aim of the exhibition is to chronicle wedding style through the ages, incorporating weddings from all cultures between 1840 and the present (this includes civil partnerships). So if you’ve got any fabulous pictures of your parents tying the knot in 70s hippie attire, or if you feel your own event captured the spirit of the age, you can contact the museum to add it to their fascinating wedding fashion databank.

The Big I Do Redo: re-live the best bits of your wedding

By AbiSilvester on April 14th, 2009

If you’re one of our readers who’s already ‘done the deed’ it’s been, oh, at least two weeks since I last provided you with an excuse to get back into your wedding attire. So if you’re dying to do it all over again and climb back into what might well have been the most expensive item of clothing you’ve ever bought, you’ll be pleased to hear about The Big I Do Redo – an almighty wedding-themed party being held all over the country by former brides and grooms for charity.

You can either host your own house party complete with a fun ‘ceremony’ and dressing up, or buy tickets to the Big I Do Redo ball in London. Either way, the idea is to raise money for a hugely deserving cause: Macmillan Cancer Support. Visit the Big I Do Redo site for more info on how to get involved.
