It is always fun to come across new additions to the bridal market. Today we welcome Eclectic-Mix which is now expending into bridal jewellery market, bringing a natural beauty and style to those special occasion looks.
The brainchild of Rebecca Scott, the first bridal collection to come from Eclectic-Mix, Tresse, features natural materials and neutral colours in designs that are feminine and beach inspired. What more could a British summer bride wish for?
“The range is classic but with a modern twist”, says Rebecca. “Each piece can be dressed up or down to suit the occasion or venue.”
The collection comes in two colours – ivory and cream – and can be customised to fit with your needs if you have a specific theme or colours in mind.

We recently mentioned our web find of the week – Perfectly Vintage – and the gorgeous vintage powder compacts available to buy. Having been given a heads up on yet another stunning 1960s black enamelled powder compact and jewellery case by Kigu of London (it’s actually a cigarette case, but we’re not promoting smoking in any way shape or form so have re-named it and its use). There is not a more stylish way to store your cocktail rings and earrings on the dressing table than in this glamorous case.
Catherine of Perfectly Vintage found these two items together, and will be selling them as a pair as they are just simply to pretty to split up.
Keep an eye out for them once they go live on the website (sometime this week we hear) – we’re sure they’ll be snapped up within minutes!

In our weekly trawling of the web we came across Perfectly Vintage, and thought the vintage powder compacts section was perfect for brides who are looking for something old, and in ways something new…
Perfect Vintage is run by Catherine Benson whose interest in vintage clothing and accessories eventually led to her setting up the company. Each item you see on the website is sourced by Catherine herself, be it vintage handbags, costume jewellery or powder compacts.
If you like anything you see, it’s best to snap it up as quickly as you can as it might be gone the next time. That’s the thing with vintage items; usually there is only the one available.

Lingerie, Product news
By Elisabeth on April 12th, 2011
Bridal lingerie specialists, Honeymoon Collection, have launched their own lingerie range, Beautiful Bride.
The range has been specifically designed for a bride on her wedding day – and night – and includes some helpful style details such as a plain silk band across the top of the bra to minimise texture visibility under strapless wedding dresses and a light weight lace thong without an elasticated hem to banish those VPLs.
Designed and made in England, the range is made from ivory silk and overlaid in lace and is available in sizes 32-36 B-D (bras) and 8-14 (briefs, thongs and suspender belts)
And the price isn’t too bad either. The strapless bra will set you back £55, while the thong and briefs cost £22.00 and £24.00 respectively. And if you want the whole set, the suspender belt is priced at £22.00. All products are available from www.honeymooncollection.co.uk

We don’t know if you’re planning a proper afternoon tea on Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding day later this month, but thought this cute cake stand was too good to keep to ourselves.
The cake stand features the well-known London sights that the royal couple will pass by on the procession, like Parliament, Buckingham Palace and the Mall.
It’s by Esther Coombs and is available from notonthehighstreet.com for £148.00
Now where are our scones…

Having followed the royal love story from day one, it is as expected that many are looking to cash-in and have jumped on the bandwagon to produce royal memorabilia. But to be honest there is nothing sweeter than to sip our morning tea from a mug featuring the happy couple: Catherine and… Harry?!
Either something is clearly wrong or we’ve all been fooled. Phew! Kate Catherine’s fiancée is still the first-born prince, William, and not his younger brother Harry.
But it looks like someone at Guandong Enterprises has not been paying attention during the proofing session, as he or she failed to spot the royal mix up.
Under the heading “The Fairytale Romantic Union of All The Centuries”, Guandong boasts of the “beautiful cup” that honours the wedding of “HRH Prince William and his stunning lady bride to be, Miss Kate Middleton.”
However on the commemorative mug available for sale online interested shoppers are met with the image of a grinning Harry – labelled ‘Will’ next to royal bride-to-be Kate.
For only £9.99 plus postage, the website kindly asks visitors to “please be our guests to own this esteemed, limited edition heirloom to celebrate with your work associates, friends, family and loved ones” on the big day.
Is this for real or just a spoof? We’re not sure, but we’re in two minds whether to buy one or not. As the website says we “are welcome to purchase now to avoid disappointment and regret.” Could prove profitable on eBay later…

Beauty - Hair & Makeup, Product news
By Elisabeth on March 10th, 2011
If you, like me, were born with natural curls – think ringlets à la Marie Antoinette – that have since been coloured and/or straightened so much that they now can’t look like Kate Catherine Middleton’s wondrous waves even on a good day, it’s a blessing to get expert help once in a while – especially if you’ve got a wedding to attend.
London based salon Inanch recently launched a revolutionary new 2-in-1 blow dry treatment that in their words “would make simply drying your hair enough to make it beautiful.” I looked at my frail tresses as I read this and decided I had to try this for myself!
The lovely people at Inanch were more than happy to prove that even my dehydrated locks could once more look healthy and shiny. Before getting started they washed my hair using Phytojoba shampoo and conditioner – the scent was absolutely divine. The hair was then quickly trimmed to get rid of split ends before the Collexia Professional hairdryer was brought out (Tip: if you’re having your mane professionally straightened using current ‘must-have’ treatment, the Brazilian Blowdry, make sure you trim the ends first to get the best result).
The Collexia hairdryer is an exclusive system that gives your hair a beauty treatment as you style it; the innovative system combines both cosmetics and state-of-the-art technology that reduces drying times as well as activates the conditioning formulas inside a treatment stick as it styles the hair.
I was given the Beauty Stick Everyday treatment which contains silk proteins and multivitacomplex to help your hair remain healthy and beautiful. I walked out feeling like a princess; my hair was straight like Gwyneth’s and soft as silk.

Inanch, which was voted ‘Salon of the Year 2010’, also offers the Repair Stick Everyday which provides instant bounce and body and is ideal for all types of hair.
Both treatments are easy to comb through – there is no feeling of product residue! – and I was told they highly protect against the damage caused by normal hairdryers and straightening irons.
For just an extra £5 on top of the standard blow dry price (from £30) I would say this is definitely a treat we should all give our hair once in a while. Even when you don’t have a wedding to go to!
For more information or to book call Inanch London on 020 7383 7607 or visit www.inanch.com.

Google is apparently the answer to everything. Just in time for Valentine’s Day the search engine has launched a new site that hopes to help happy couples with their wedding preparations. They must be expecting a lot of engagements to happen – as are we all Google!
The newly launched Google for Weddings will be able to assist in planning almost every aspect of the day, bar the cake tasting and band auditions (perhaps additional features to come??). The service will allow you to design your wedding site, share photos, manage your expenses and track invitations through elements that use Google Docs, Google Sites and Picnik.

Choose one of the 20 wedding templates – especially developed with guidance from a professional wedding planner! – and store your wedding plans in the clouds, so that you can access it whenever, wherever (internet connection required) and share it with your friends and family as you see fit.
Not quite sure you want to use it? Google is holding a wedding sweepstakes for engaged couples with a top prize of $25,000 and a chance to have wedding planner Michelle Rago with wedding planning.

We’ve all had it happen to us: bought expensive lingerie and then had our heart drop to the floor when pulling out the disfigured garments out of the washing machine. This is especially irritating if it’s your wedding night lingerie that you’ve sneakily worn before the big day, to ‘test it out’. Luckily help is at hand with The Berry Ball & Bag!
Say goodbye to lumpy bras, punctured gel pads, twister hosiery and lost socks (see your new hubby would find it useful too). The Berry Ball & Bag let you wash your lingerie and delicates without it being destroyed, and offers the perfect solution to take care of your wedding and honeymoon lingerie. It’s also doubles as a packing tool to prevent bras from being crushed during travels or simply as a storage space for your favourite pieces.
The set is available from US online shop ComfortHouse.com (which does international shipping!) for $13.99.

Now this is exciting news! Britain’s very own Matthew Williamson is to launch a wedding dress collection for spring/summer 2011″
Following the success of his Net-a-porter collection, the designer has confirmed that he’s bringing out a small line that will be revealed to the public at the White Gallery bridal exhibition in May.
Williamson is known for his feminine shapes, richly embellished natural fabrics and a hint of exoticism. A label spokesperson says: “Elements of the designer’s signature style, such as embroidery and intricate beadwork, are re-worked to create a collection with an elegant, yet bohemian spirit.”
Wonder if we’ll see a certain bride sporting one of Williamson’s designs next spring…
Who is your favourite wedding dress designer? We’d love to know!

Pre-Wedding Celebrations, Product news
By Andrea Petrou on November 4th, 2010

It’s hard trying to find that perfect wedding gift for your groom, a watch is a little bit too boring and that football season ticket will not only set you back a fair good pounds but also ensure you become a fully fledged football widow.
Therefore we were really pleased when we heard about YouMinx.com, a service that offers brides-to-be the chance to create a one off photo album as a pre-wedding gift to their partner.
Future bridges are encouraged to be shot in their bridal attire, underwear etc, all of which is done in secret, without the groom’s knowledge.
The groom is then given an album containing 10 prints or 25 high-resolution images on CD in a presentation case with a special message imbedded into one of the images/presentation cd case.
Andrea Palmer, the site’s founder, says the album is typically given as a gift to the groom the night before the wedding when they’re unable to spend time with the bride to be.
The site uses an all female photography team and all guests are pampered pre-shoot.
We think this a perfect way to show your beau how much you care.
