Star tiara at Marianna Christodoulou

By admin on October 16th, 2007

MariannaC.JPG
Multi-functional pieces are a great addition to any bride’s wardrobe. Take this gorgeous star embellished tiara as an example. Made from sterling silver and set with crystals, you can pin your hair up during the day and have it as a great tiara, but if you want a different evening look, simply take it off, adjust the height and it also makes a stunning neckpiece – £162.50 from the Ice Queen range at Marianna Christodoulou.

Tiaras and crystal jewellery at Andrew Prince

By admin on October 15th, 2007

Andrew%20Prince.JPG

Whilst I’ve never personally been a huge fan of the tiara look, even I could be swayed by Andrew Prince’s designs. The jewellery maker uses crystals to create a range of ready to wear and bespoke tiaras and other jewellery. The exquisite pieces are apparently frequently confused for the real thing but thankfully come without the huge insurance tag! Despite having a clientele that boasts royalty alongside screen stars, the prices are still surprisingly affordable starting at £30 for jewellery.

This azure crystal tiara (TP003) is £385.

Jeanine Payer ring

By admin on October 12th, 2007

Antonia-2-L.jpgAs the editor of Bridalwave’s book-obsessed sister site, Trashionista, I’m more than partial to literature inspired jewellery, but I thought this ring would be perfect for Bridalwave too. By Jeanine Payer, it’s a semi-rotating stack of three sterling silver rings, fastened by a vertical 18k gold rivet and engraved individually with the following Ralph Waldo Emerson quote:

What lies behind us and what lies
before us are tiny matters
compared to what lies within us

which is certainly appropriate for a wedding ring. It costs $465.00 and I am in love with it.

Be a pearly queen with Roselle Pearls

By admin on October 9th, 2007

roselle.jpg Pearls are such a classic addition to a wedding, and I just love the range that this company offer. These pretty pink pearls from Roselle Pearls are specifically for your flower girl or bridesmaids, giftboxed, at £35 I think they’ll make a really pretty present she’s bound to treasure. Of course they do other bridal jewellery, from classic strands to contemporary mixes of pearls and crystals, well worth a look if you’re tired of diamonds (oh how tired I am of diamonds…).

Euricase multimedia ring box

By admin on October 4th, 2007

euri.jpgI can’t improve on Engadget‘s headline regarding this ring box – “for nerds who want wives” – so I’m not even going to try. Costing a rather painful $198.95 (for the box!), it features an internal two-inch LCD screen (along with a clock, calender and alarm) onto which you can upload your favorite photos (of you and/or your beloved, rather than, say, Paris Hilton) via USB and display then alongside your proposal. In fact, you could even upload your proposal and let the box do *all* the work. It’s certainly swanky, but I feel if you need to make such a song and dance about the box, you might be better buying a more impressive ring.

Engagement rings at Harry Winston

By admin on October 3rd, 2007

Harry%20Winston.JPGHarry Winston is one of those names that is just synonymous with engagement rings. Even if you are unlikely to be offered a ring from here, you can still revel in a little window shopping for sparklers absolutely free! And to just compound how broke you are in real life, the website doesn’t even have prices for you to marvel at.

Top, round brilliant-cut diamond, bottom, emerald-cut; both from the Harry Winston diamond engagement ring selection.

Raindrop jewellery from Shefaly House of Jewels

By admin on September 28th, 2007

raindrops.jpg
Asian weddings get all the best jewellery! Though having said that, it was a real struggle to find decent websites dedicated to this kind of accessories and jewellery, so it was a pleasure to come across this company.

Shefaly offers a huge range of really gorgeous costume jewellery, for weddings or otherwise, and I was particularly struck by this raindrop set. The main design incorporates these vibrant green and turquoise stones in a drop shape. The necklace and earrings are available in a set together for £75, then the gorgeous hair tear-drop for your forehead will really complete the look for £25. Shefaly also offers a huge range of sparkly Swarovski cufflinks, perfect for giving your man some pizzazz!

By admin on September 27th, 2007

PeardropEarPend.gifSwarovski must be raking in the money, and for once I think it might just be deserved as their crystal jewellery never fails to look elegant and gorgeous. This pretty set from LJ Designs is a great way to use the gems, keeping it simple with fantastic results.

The matching pendant and earring set is available in sterling silver or with gold plating, depending on your preference or colour scheme. These are a fantastic choice as they’ll go with any bridal ensemble and could even serve as special occassion jewellery with any future outfit. They’re a fabulous price too at just £22 for the set.

Alternative tattoo wedding rings from Stephen Einhorn

By admin on September 21st, 2007

tattoorings.jpgHow far have you gone to show your love? Maybe flowers? Champagne? A weekend away? Your lover’s name indelibly printed on your body? Now, I’ve actually got a tattoo, so I’ve got absolutely nothing against them. But well, I think we all know that committing another’s name to ink is tempting fate – just ask Johnny Depp. So how about an alternative option for your wedding?

Autumn leaves ring pillow

By admin on September 21st, 2007

ringpillow.jpgIf recent weather is anything to go by, autumn may well already be here and, since it’s my favourite season, I for one would like to take advantage of it before battening down to winter. So if you’re planning an autumn/fall wedding then this pillow, featuring silk leaves on red velvet, would make a great addition. It costs $180 from The Wedding Library.
