‘Keelie’ courts at Dune

By admin on May 13th, 2008

Keelie.JPGWhite dresses mean white shoes and whilst it’s tempting to go for a cheap as chips pair to wear once and throw a way or go for costly high end styles, these smart courts a perfect midway compromise. The horseshoe detail is a cute addition and the diamante buckle adds a bit of sparkle. At £85 from Dune they aren’t too budget busting either. They also come in black and black.white.

Dolcis peep toes for brides now at Barratts…?

By admin on May 2nd, 2008

77_284_0851.jpgThe title of this post might seem a little confusing, but high street shoe purveyors Dolcis have just been bought by Barratts. Fear not, though, as this only means that all those fabulous shoes are available from one place.

These Dolcis cream lace peep toes are currently available at Barratt’s website. I love the ribbon bow detail which makes these a perfect bridal pair which really make a statement. That statement? Glamour and style. At £35 you can’t go wrong.

Fashionable loafers for the groom from Topman

By admin on May 2nd, 2008

77M04STAN_normal.jpgThe traditional men’s formal shoe can often be a little bit dull. Plain black leather and laces often doesn’t cut it for the style-conscious grooms of today. Thankfully you needn’t break the bank to get a bit of sophistication and style for your big day.

Topman’s range of smart loafers are a great option for formalwear, whether you want to make a statement or just stay comfortable on your feet all day. These tan leather brogues are stunning and cost a very reasonable £60. They’re also available in a less conspicuous chocolate brown.

In a great looking cream leather, they’d made a great statement pair if you’re going for an out of the ordinary pair. They’re not too far off a pair of stylish spats either. Available from ASOS Man for a great price of £45.

By admin on April 21st, 2008

Afraid to dance the night away?

By admin on April 18th, 2008

ehero.jpgI heard about these blister plasters just before I set off to do a 12 mile walk in New York. I bought a pack and packed them, smugly. As it turned out, I didn’t need them, but I was glad to have them and now I’ll make sure I take them on any night out where I’m wearing heels or less than comfortable shoes, like, you know, a wedding!

Apparently they provide “immediate pain and pressure relief, cushioning protection and help create the ideal healing conditions for blisters.” Get the Scholl plasters from Boots in the UK. Or if you’re in the US, try an anti blister and chafing stick (“prevention is better than cure!”) from Drugstore.com.

Classic white pump from Jessica Simpson

By admin on April 17th, 2008

Jessica shoes.JPGJessica Simpson wouldn’t be my first port of call in searching for a wedding shoe. However, I spotted these ‘Brenda’ pumps and think they would make a great budget buy at $68.95 with a leather upper plus a 3 and 1/2 inch heel. The reviews aren’t very promising though especially when it comes to comfort. They’re online here.

Stylish brogues for the groom from Bronx at Schuh

By admin on April 11th, 2008

3106366020m1_exlg.jpgI adore brown leather, and while it might not go with every suit out there it’s a great choice for a groom looking for an edge of style.

Avoiding the usual black leather or patent, these lace up Oxford shoes from Bronx are a great alternative shoe style for grooms. With great looks and quality, they’re a bargain too at just £69.99. Not bad for a pair that will make its way into regular wear. Find them at the online Schuh store by searching Bronx Brad Wing Oxford.
