Planning On Horse-Riding To Your Wedding?

By admin on September 4th, 2006

Bride_on_horse_1Alot of people have romantic dreams of riding up to the wedding on a stunning white charger or, failing that, Black Beauty, without really thinking about the logistics of not only getting a horse but their own competency in the saddle.

Firstly, I would recommend don’t do it! No, really, that is my first suggestion. Think of it this way 1. It is a horse, horses do weird things at unfortunate moments like poop or run away 2. You might just possibly be wearing a white dress and horses do not care about keeping things like white dresses clean 3. You can’t ride

It doesn’t all have to be doom and gloom if you’ve really got your heart set on that Knights and Maidens on Big Horses type wedding…

Horse Drawn Wedding Carriages

By admin on August 29th, 2006

HorsesHands up all of you who have dreamed of having a horse drawn carriage take you do your wedding. Yes, I thought there would be more than one! Much as I love horses, I don’t share the dream but there are many companies who will supply horses and carriage for you and sometimes your bridesmaids too.

This inquisitive bridesmaid is inspecting one from Jane Cox Horse Drawn Carriages. There are a number of carriage styles to chose from including open and closed top and each is driven by a pair of ponies.

Vintage and classic cars

By admin on August 7th, 2006

Atw_vintageHow many times do you get to travel in style in a vintage car? Probably not many I’ll bet so a special occasion is the perfect time to splash out on a fantastic car like this 1930s style Austin Tourer convertible. I found it at ATW  Vintage and Classic Cars who specialise in the North East region (UK). They also have vintage seven-seater Rolls Royce, a 1949 Bentley, a 1930s Beauford convertible and a host of other swish cars, all naturally provided with a chauffeur to transfer you between home, cermony and reception venue.

Revenge of the Groom

By admin on July 27th, 2006

Revenge_1I’ll bet a few of you brides and grooms are in for a crazy bout of last minute freedom before you take that trip up the aisle. Groom Matt Edgely certainly did when his groomsmen "made him" dance around a Manchester pub in a leopard print thong (leopard print, honestly! Hardly flattering). Bet they didn’t think it was such a jolly jape when he got his own back after the ceremony by offering them transport with a difference. The six ushers and two best men were presented with toy scooters complete with personalised number plates and decked in ribbons, which they had to ride to the reception to the amusement of passing motorists.

Vintage wedding buses

By admin on July 12th, 2006

Wedding_busGetting married and holding a reception elsewhere presents a logistical nightmare for guests. First off they have to find parking for the ceremony then again for the reception if they can even find their way there. On top of that a proportion of your guests won’t be able to join you for a drink. A popular solution is to hire a wedding bus that will transport your guests safely around town with picks up from their hotel to the ceremony location and reception. Memory Lane have a number of vintage buses including London’s famous red Routemasters for hire.

Get me to the church on time!

By admin on March 9th, 2006

Beetle_1From Jordan’s fairy tale carriage to the more traditional Bentley, getting to the wedding is a great occasion for trying out a luxurious vehicle for the day… but if you fancy something a little different take a look at Star Car Hire.

They have everything from a convertible red beetle to the A-Team van (which we’re sure grooms will love) and a pink cadillac. Northern Ireland readers might like the beetle stretch limo too.
