What type of Wedding Dress neckline should you choose?

By Debs Cass on July 18th, 2013

For some of us, the idea of the perfect wedding dress can start well before the big question’s been popped (- and possibly before adulthood?). Regardless, when you get down to it it can be a tricky choice what with so many styles and designs out there: As well as choosing the right dress silhouette for you, there’s also the different types of necklines to decide on.

Necklines can be just as important to consider as they can accentuate your best features, or detract away from those areas you’d rather not draw attention to.

Here’s our top ten bridal necklines you can pick your favourite from, depending on what works best for you.

Strapless Neckline

An elegant look ideal for all shapes, showing off the shoulders and collarbone and accentuating a long neck. Lightly boned to provide both support and flexibility, this style also has nude stretch-jersey lining through the body for a seamless under layer. net-a-porter

By Debs Cass on March 21st, 2013

It’s no secret that weddings can cost the earth, and when the budget’s tight (or non-existent) it doesn’t mean to say the dress has to look budget. If you have your heart set on a vintage style wedding, and want your dress to be unique and have some history about it – it can pay-off to look outside of the more standard bridal choices. Consider going for something previously worn – just the once, or something new recreated in a vintage style, to create that unique look you’re looking for. Here’s some vintage style gems we have stumbled across that won’t blow the budget…

Max Mara Bridal 2013

By Elisabeth Edvardsen on February 6th, 2013

If we were getting married this year, we’d want to be a Max Mara bride. With the 2013 Bridal Collection Project, the Italian label redefines the concept of the wedding dress to make it contemporary and prêt-à-porter, responding to the current need to speed up the preparations. The idea, at first developed with a few special items in selected boutiques, is today much broader: over 30 models from essential dresses to more elaborate – distributed worldwide.

From their website: “The 2013 Collection, from romantic allure and elegant minimalism, is dedicated to the modern and dynamic woman, who has no desire to lose hours for fittings in an atelier. Tones offer a range of whites, from milk-white to ivory, with touches of transparent pastels in a make-up palette. Alongside the dresses, Max Mara offers an entire range of accessories, from shoes to veils, gloves and bijoux flowers.”

Combine these with the finest laces, handmade embroideries, Swarovski crystals and top notch fabrics, this made in Italy wedding dress doesn’t disappoint. The only gown we’re not sure of is the one with a mint green waistband and hair accessory. Victorio & Lucchino 2013 bridal collection

By Elisabeth Edvardsen on January 16th, 2013

The Victorio & Lucchino bride certainly goes her own ways – just look at those elaborate headpieces. Then again, with the Brits loving a good fascinator for weddings, why not let the bride take centre stage? The 2013 bridal collection of the Seville-based duo is full of wild flowers and delicate embellishments. We’re quite impressed with the groom they sent down the aisle catwalk too. We’ll have one of those to go please!
