Following a hugely successful first bridalwear range earlier this year, the second collection had just been revealed. The 2012 capsule collection features eight wedding dress styles inspired by well-known and loved Disney Princess characters, like Belle and Jasmine, which are guaranteed to a a sprinkle of magic to your day.

For the smaller people in your wedding party, Disney also offers mini-me versions of all wedding dress designs so that they too can feel like princesses for a day (or more as I expect the little ladies will not want to take these dresses off!). Check out the Disney Royal Blossoms collection here.

To complement the bridal gowns, the Disney Royal Maidens collection of adult bridesmaids’ dresses offers a choice of 60 shades in various finishes: long and short dresses, satin luxe taffeta and chiffon.

This time around you can also get veils to match the design inspired to match the style and personality of eight iconic Disney Princesses: Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Rapunzel, Snow White and Tiana. Also new of this year is the Disney Fairy Tale Wedding Jewels, which is a stunning collection of Disney Princess inspired jewellery that is designed to complement each bridal gown and maiden dress. Have your pick from earrings, bracelets, necklaces, tiaras and brooches to make your wedding day outfit perfect.

Wedding gowns range from £725 to £1,345, Disney Royal Maidens bridesmaids’ dresses from £160 to £199 and Disney Royal Blossoms from £153 to £256.

Monique Lhuillier Fall 2012 bridal collection

By Elisabeth Edvardsen on November 16th, 2011

While other bridal design superstar Vera Wang has opted for a series of nude and black wedding dresses for her autumn 2012 collection, celebrity favourite Monique Lhuillier has kept to a more traditional white. I personally loved the Gothic feel of Vera’s range, but Monique’s – even if less dark and twisted –  Fall 2012 bridal collection is stunning nonetheless with an abundance of lace, tulle and oodles of draping chiffons. Everything you need to feel like a Princess Bride.

The best of the lot? Bouquet with its high split, Lili for its cuteness and Monroe for its Old Hollywood glamour.

Below are some of the wedding dresses available for next year’s spring brides that are looking for timeless romanticism and elegance. We particularly like Sabrina for utter 1940s glamour.

Marchesa is one of our favourite dress designers, and the Autumn 2012 Bridal Collection doesn’t disappoint. With an ethereal fantasy feel, the latest range by Georgina Chapman offers draped tulle, voluminous skirts, delicate lace and a couple of short dresses for a less formal wedding ceremony. Personally I love the short dress with a feathery skirt.

Copies of Kim Kardashian’s dresses to go on sale in February

By Elisabeth Edvardsen on November 7th, 2011

It was the fairlytale wedding of 2011… Hang on a minute! For Americans perhaps, but over here in Britain who can forget the real fairytale wedding of royals Prince William and Catherine, or Kate as we will forever call her. And as with Kate’s much talked about Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress, Vera Wang’s three gowns for US reality TV star Kim Kardashian are now being replicated, despite Kim ending her marriage to Kris after just 72 days.

The 31-year-old socialite married Kris Humphries in August but have already filed for divorce due to ‘irreconcilable differences’. But what about the dresses? Would wearing a Kim-copy mean that your own marriage is doomed from the start? We’re not really superstitious here so we think a marriage – and a relationship for that matter – will last if both persons involved make a genuine effort every day to show their love and support and be willing to work at it, through dark times and good. So wearing a dress which is a copy of soon-to-be divorcee Kim Kardashian has nothing to do with how your own union turn out.

The collections are already being produced and will be on sale in the US from February. Bridal designer extraordinaire – and close friend to the bride, Vera Wang, is said to have been shocked by the news of the marriage ending so quickly. But Vera isn’t too worried about the ‘curse’ as other dresses she has designed for doomed celebrity weddings have proved very popular despite the way those marriages turned out.
