French designer Delphine Manivet was the choice of pop singer Lily Allen when she married Sam Cooper in Gloucestershire this weekend, in a gorgeous vintage inspired lace wedding gown that looked like it arrived straight from the 1920s.
Inspired by Lily we’ve dived into the wonderful lace and silk world of Delphine Manivet and bring you a selection of her bridal collection.

Kicking of a summer of celebrity weddings, singer Lily Allen married “the love of her life” Sam Cooper on Saturday 12 June in St James the Great Church in the Gloucestershire village of Cranham.
Keeping true to her love for vintage, Lily wore a stunning 1920’s style Delphine Manivet lace gown with a demure neckline, empire waist and ruffled fishtail.
The dress bore a resemblance to that worn by Kate Middleton when she married Prince William in April this year, and was adorned with an abundance of lace and long lace sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and a long veil. Lily’s bridal bouquet was a mix of peach and blue blossoms
The empire cut dress also kept another secret; there was double joy for Lily on her wedding weekend as her husband revealed his blushing bride is expecting a baby. The groom reportedly confirmed the happy news during the wedding reception that Lily is three months into her pregnancy. Lily has tragically had two miscarriages previously: a baby boy last year, six months into the pregnancy, and a baby at four months while dating Chemical Brother’s Ed Simons in 2008. We wish Lily all the luck in the world for her current pregnancy and hope it all goes well.
The newlyweds are now set to honeymoon at Glastonbury Festival – where they first met – but as we’ve previously reported Mrs Cooper will be glamping it in style as she and her hubby have hired a luxury teepee.

Kate Middleton dazzled in a dusty pink Jenny Packham gown last night as she made her first official appearance as Prince William’s wife and Duchess of Cambridge.
Jenny Packham’s bridal spring/summer 2011 collection is no less stunning; a cascade of gorgeous, understated vintage inspired bridal gowns, with beautiful embellishment – some even with feathers – the collection does a nod to the glamorous 1920’s – an era many brides love.
A romantic and feminine collection, it also contains classically styled wedding dresses, including flattering a-line cuts that will leave any bride looking like a princess.

Created in time for last month’s royal wedding between Kate and William, the dress features 3,500 flowers and crystals from around the world.
A true fairytale wedding dress is worth an estimated £25,000.
Now isn’t that just a dream dress?

Alan Hannah at White Gallery London
Alan Hannah’s romantic designs graced the White Gallery London catwalk earlier this week. Marguerite Hannah, the designer behind this award-winning label, has looked to romantic escapism for inspiration. Her new collection includes fluid, slim-line gowns with a 1920s feel alongside a Gone with the Wind look with voluminous tulle and organza skirts nipped in at the waist. Fresh designs came through in the form of sheer capes with ribbon trims and a 60’s style bell sleeved ivory jumpsuit.
There was even a design which looked strikingly similar to that of Kate…

Stephanie Allin at White Gallery London
Stephanie Allin’s 2012 bridal gown collection is inspired by the jazz age, and showcases luscious beaded, feathered and textured fabrics in a monochrome palette with hints of black, silver and gold, giving modern soul to classic silhouettes.
The feeling of romance is conjured up through the delicate use of lace overlay featured adorning simple line, strapless dresses with wide waistbands.
Double layered skirts, flashing the underlay and cut on the bias give a modern take on the classic bustier bridal gown. While vintage chic comes through the classic empire line with silk embroidery embellishment and sheer lace capped sleeves.
Belts also made a strong appearance in the collection, defining the waist and enhancing the figure.

News just in: fashion designer Vera Wang is an ‘equal-opportunity shopper.’
The designer who is known for her intricate and stunning wedding dress creations has told WWD she loves hitting the shops wherever she is and doesn’t mind what outlets they are. Right…
Vera preciously worked as a senior fashion editor for Vogue magazine for sixteen years before embarking on her own wedding gown emporium and has since expanded her brand to include jewellery, fragrance, shoes, eyewear and a home collection. Nothing stopping Vera! Well perhaps Sarah Burton will knock her off the Queen of Bridal Gowns throne following Sarah’s remarkable job as dress designer of Duchess Kate’s vintage inspired Alexander McQueen gown for her wedding to Prince William.
Considering that most of Vera’s dresses range between £1,200 to £4,300 (that’s $2,000 to $7,000 for our American readers) and some even costing as much as £7,000 or more ($12,000 plus), we’re not sure how much we believe this statement.
Vera Wang surely has a comfortable living so why would she shop in common shopping centre stores when she can have her cake and eat it too?

I’ll be making dresses brides can really move and dance in – I am freeing them of their corsets!”
