By Elisabeth Edvardsen on March 14th, 2012

There’s something about the Italians and style. Italian women – and men – just seem to effortlessly dress to perfection, so it’s no surprise that their bridal designers offers just that.

Luisa Lotti of Luisa Sposa has been making wedding dresses since 1989, and her creations are embellished with delicate lace and beautiful embroidery to infuse a romantic charm.

By Elisabeth Edvardsen on March 12th, 2012

Rosa Clara’s 2012 wedding dress collection offers clean, minimal lines for the modern bride. The simple bodices, inspired by t-shirts, are teamed with swishy skirts , asymmetric necklines and bare backs. And we’re simply in love with the dresses that have pockets.

Our favourites are Audrey, Antifaz, Alma and Aixa.

Raimon Bundó 2012 wedding dress collection

By Elisabeth Edvardsen on March 5th, 2012

Spanish favourite, Raimon Bundó’s 2012 bridal collection is a elegant range that puts emphasis on natural silks, mikados and dupioni as well as carefully selected materials. The collection mixes different elements and styles and recalls the golden days in which the seal of elegance and quality are unmistakeable.

There is even a gown that looks very much like the one a certain Duchess wore for her April wedding last year…

Bohemian bridal romance by Minna

By Elisabeth Edvardsen on February 24th, 2012

How gorgeous isn’t Finnish designer Minna’s bohemian wedding collection? These hand embellished wedding dresses won’t make you choke on the wedding cake when you see the price tag either. At a very affordable £200 to £500, the vintage inspired capsule collection includes gowns, veils, turbans and lots of hair adornments to complete the bridal look.

For the superstitious brides, old marital good luck customs can be added to the dresses, so if you want something old or something new to adorn the gown it can be added. You can also have your favourite love poem or perhaps the wedding date embroidered in as well for a truly unique gown.

See the complete collection on www.minna.co.uk.

Wedding dress inspiration: Glorious Marchesa A/W 2012 at New York Fashion Week

By Elisabeth Edvardsen on February 16th, 2012

We’re bound to see one of these gowns by Marchesa at the forthcoming Oscars in March, but will we see the designs transferred into the bridal world? I do hope so!

The rather angelic autumn/winter 2012 collection was inspired by a 1879 portrait painting ‘ A Soul Brought to Heaven’ by William Adolphe Bourgueraus. The show was a dreamlike spectacular with floaty, ott ball gowns that will make any woman the belle of the ball – her wedding!

Be ready for winter brides to look for embroidery, lace, feathers, more lace, tulle… and did I mention lace?

While the Americans and LA had the Grammy’s last night, the Brits had the BAFTAs in London with lots of beautiful people taking to the red carpet. The likes of Christina Hendricks (showing off her envious hour glass figure), Holliday Grainger and Penelope Cruz all looked fantastic as they walked down the aisle to the Royal Opera House.

Which one of our chosen ten is your favourite?

Kaviar Gauche causes bridal stir at Berlin Fashion Week with g-string wedding outfit

By Elisabeth Edvardsen on January 20th, 2012

Kaviar Gauche Berlin Fashion Week

Picture 1 of 7
Picture 1 of 7

And the bride wore… Hardly anything!

Most often less is more, but we’re not sure that this goes when it comes to wedding fashion. Berlin-based fashion label Kaviar Gauche caused quite the commotion when they sent this risqué wedding outfit down the runway at Berlin Fashion Week yesterday.

What can definitely not be classified as a wedding dress consists of a veil and… a bikini? The g-string and bra combo, joined together by a small piece of fabric, would look more at home on a Victoria’s Secret shoot than at a wedding.

The rest of their bridal collection was far more covering and included some stunning designs.

What do you think of the wedding bikini – more honeymoon than wedding ceremony?
