A different kind of love letter

By admin on September 12th, 2008

Loveletter.jpgNormally when I’m checking Next out, it’s to see what’s new in their great wedding collection. However, spying this set of letters – spelling LOVE - I can’t help but think this would be a sweet addition to a mantle piece or window sill. Not that you need any reminders though! And they’re a very budget friendly £12 so would be a lovely gift too.

Lovers Leap gift box for newlyweds

By admin on September 10th, 2008

Loversleap.jpg
I’ve been on the look out for more individual wedding gifts today – the kind that say I know you said no gifts, but I saw this and thought of you. This ‘Lovers Leap’ giftpack has all the right ingredients – a slab of Belgian chocolate, two French-milled heart-shaped soaps in honey and aloe and six Italian leather coasters that will make a stylish and useful keepsake for the coffee table – the cost is £49 at HappyBox.

“The Most Romantic Perfume in the World”

By admin on September 10th, 2008

Lismore-with-Box1-thumb.jpgI saw an advert for this new perfume, Waterford Lismore describing it as “The Most Romantic Perfume in the World”. The bottle can be used as a bud vase once the perfume’s gone and you can also get the silver collar engraved with a message.

It smells familiar, but I’m not sure whether it reminds me of my nan or that rose petal perfume I used to make (you know, water and rose petals).

Have an indulgent bathtime with the Lovers Bath Caddy

By admin on September 9th, 2008

Loversbath.jpgSometimes it really pays to go ‘off the wall’ with a wedding pressie, after all, who wouldn’t love this bath caddy for two? It has wine glass holders, a book rest, candle holder and no doubt there’s room for a little box of chocs too – £32 at Store. On a side note, I recently placed an order with this company (boxes, boxes and more boxes to store my shoes etc, since you ask) and the service was really good with prompt delivery.

Give a unique gift with the Mr. and Mrs. Jones Juicers

By admin on September 5th, 2008

mr-and-mrs-jones-juicers.gif
Everyone knows that toasters and gifts of their ilk for newlyweds are a bit past it. For the couple who are already cohabiting and have set up their home, a quirky gift for the kitchen is still a great idea.

I love these Mr and Mrs Robinson juicers by Polly George. Fun, practical and rather appropriate, they’re a good giggle and something to be displayed proudly in anyone’s kitchen. They’re available online from 2Jane for $90.

‘New Union’ green gift basket

By admin on September 5th, 2008

ggb_newunionbasket.jpgI’ve just discovered GWG – or Green With Glamour – and it’s full of gorgeous gift ideas.

I particularly like this ‘New Union’ wedding gift basket, which includes such treats as a set of 2 recycled glass Rondo champagne flutes, a gardenia soy candle, and a Romantic set of bath teas. It costs $189.

Dalvey Cigar Gift Set for groomsmen and fathers

By admin on September 5th, 2008

dalvey_cigarset.jpgSmoking is much less than de rigeur at the moment, but if you know a special man who’s partial to a distinguished cigar puff, then you could do much worse than this very stylish Cigar Gift Set by Dalvey.

I won’t pretend to know anything much about which cigars are good ones, and if you’re in the same boat as me then the paraphernalia is a much safer bet. This great looking leather box comes complete with a lighter, ashtray and cigar punch. All very handsome, and mighty useful to the right person, too. It costs £135 from Robert Graham Ltd.

Put your wedding gift up in lights

By admin on September 4th, 2008

swatch.237.sw_image.jpg

I love light boxes; they just make me smile. So I was thrilled to find these bespoke boxes at Pedlars. Built to your precise specifications, they can say whatever you want. There isn’t even a maximum amount of letters – the price (£395) is for up to 14 letters, although the site assures “don’t worry the cost doesn’t shoot up!” for more than 14.

So you could have “Mr & Mrs [married name” or even a proposal. I do like this hot pink “I love you” though.

Fabulous “Say Goodbye” print

By admin on September 2nd, 2008

saygoodbye.jpgArt is certainly one of the more personal gifts you can gift someone and I’m intrigued by this Linzie Hunter print. Gifted to the couple, the message is certainly poignant just so long as the couple in question don’t think you are making fun of their past! However, I think it’s a fun tongue-in-cheek print that I’d love to have in my home. Prices start at $20 for a 8.5″x11″ print at 20×200. [via IDoSugar]

‘Til Death Do Us Part candles

By admin on August 20th, 2008

till death candles-700.jpgI’m not wild about the packaging of these candles, but the certainly sound quite delicious: Crimson (Lychee, Mimosa, Apricot, Red Currant), or Ivory (Blood Orange, Vanilla Bean, Sweet Luck), they’re natural soy candles with a burn time of 60 hours and, given the name of them, would make a lovely wedding gift.

They cost $32.50 from Delight.com (who now ship to the UK).

New Trend: Japanese themed weddings

By admin on August 19th, 2008

Japan.JPGIf you’re planning a Japanese themed wedding (perhaps you met there or are honeymooning in the country?) then The Japanese Shop is stuffed full of things to inspire you. A wedding incense set (pictured, £9.99) would make a great and inexpensive gift whilst favour ideas include patterned washi paper boxes that can be filled with mini happiness cats or chocolates or why not snap up the mini zen gardens with sand, rocks and rake for £4.99?

Bridal ring-holder bible

By admin on August 18th, 2008

NMH3BLP_mn.jpgI’ve never given personalised wedding bibles much thought, I have to admit. But if this is something you’ve been looking for then no doubt this hand-embellished bible will be just the thing.

The cover features a brass vase with silk posies, faux-pearl cross, gold-plated Victorian corners, and satin ribbon streamers to secure the wedding bands during the ceremony. It costs $115 from Neiman Marcus.
