On 14th September 2002 Gwen Stefani, the stunning singer from pop band No Doubt, married Gavin Rossdale, singer from Bush. The ceremony took place in St. Paul's Church in Covent Garden, London. It was a fairly modest affair, with only a handful of close friends and family invited to the ceremony. The bride arrived a full hour late with her father Dennis, in a 1970's white Rolls Royce, while the groom waited patiently outside with his sheepdog Winston!

kylie.jpgI would love nothing more than to have pop princess Kylie Minogue here as an iconic bride in her own right, but until she finds a man worthy of her affections (not Olivier Martinez it appears!) we will have to settle for her former alter ego Charlene Mitchell from Aussie TV show Neighbours back in the '80s instead.

The wedding between her and on-screen boyfriend Scott Robinson (played by Jason Donovan) on 1st July 1987 was watched by millions worldwide. Who can forget the moment the church door opened to reveal the vision in white, on the arm of her big brother Henry?!

During my search for Iconic Brides I have come across several deserving women I'd like to have featured, but either I couldn't gather enough information together about their wedding, or they just didn't quite make the shortlist.

So I thought I'd post a little montage of their images as brides, just to let you see how utterly fabulous they look, plus a little bit about each marriage.

Bianca Perez Morena de Macias (say that three times fast!) married Rolling Stone frontman Mick Jagger in French Riviera town St.Tropez on 12th May 1971. The civil ceremony, which took place in the town hall, had a rocky start when an argument broke out between Jagger's spokesman and local police over the amount of paparazzi who'd been allowed into the hall. As a result the ceremony was postponed by one and a half hours (perhaps that explains Bianca's expression in the first photograph!)

We couldn’t really have an Iconic Bride series without including Priscilla Presley. After all she may not have been an icon herself, but boy did she choose some guy to marry! Personally I think she's one of the luckiest women alive, but then again I have a thing about men with quiffs!

The wedding of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Beaulieu (formerly Wagner) took place on 1st may 1967 in one of the most grandios suites of the Aladdin Hotel, Las Vegas. Despite the couple's notoriety It was a private ceremony that took all of eight minutes to conclude.

There are some pretty obvious candidates within the House of Windsor who could have been chosen for our Iconic Bride series, but I think one of the most stylish and elegant is Princess Margaret during her marriage to Anthony Armstrong Jones.

The wedding took place on 6th May 1960 in Westminster Abbey and it was actually the very first televised Royal wedding, watched by over 20 million people. Margaret was 29 when she married and certainly lived up to the ‘Princess Bride’ title.

We continue our feature on ‘Iconic Brides’ by looking this week at Jackie Bouvier, the woman who captured the heart of then U.S Senator John F. Kennedy, and became the First Lady to the 35th President of the United States.

There is no doubt that Jackie is a style icon, the fact that her wedding dress is the most photographed in U.S history is testament to this. Despite her untimely death in 1994 she continues to inspire women of all ages with her elegant style.

In the first of a new series, we'll be looking at the famous brides that have captivated us by their choice of wedding dress over the decades. Sure, there will be some we hate, some we love, some worn by TV characters rather than real women and some we just can't think why? But rest assured, we'll have a never ending supply! And if you won't to nominate an iconic bride - email us!

Kicking off the first installment is a Hollywood icon who married her own real prince - Grace Kelly. The wedding took place in April 1956 and set the trend for big dresses to come back in fashion after the sparesness of materials during the previous decade. Both the silk and lace and the shape of the dress itself have never gone out fashion and it is very demure as befitting a future royal.
