Gallery: Wedding rings and bands

Comments (1)

We like to try and tie in our hints and tips with our galleries here at Bridalwave, but if we're honest we couldn't think of anything that would be right after our advice on picking wedding music bands.

So we've put together a gallery of wedding rings and bands to help ensure you have the perfect one for your day.

Just don't forget to manicure those fingers.

Click on the picture below to begin the gallery.

Claudia Bradbury necklace.jpg Have you bought jewellery for your big day yet?

Claudia Bradbury's delicate jewellery has long been a favourite with brides-to-be. Her designs are feminine and beautiful, and often feature freshwater pearls and hanging pendants made of gemstones and silver charms. There's currently 25% off everything, so this is a great opportunity to buy some accessories for your wedding day, or to get presents for your bridemaids or family afterwards.

We love the 20s the feel of this lariat necklace. It would look perfect with a vintage style lace dress.

The offer is only available online - just enter the code CB25 at checkout. www.claudiabradbury.com

Element.JPGIf you're newly engaged or getting ready to choose a wedding ring for your big day and want something that little bit different then check out the latest designs from Element Jewellery.

The company has come up with a range of rings with a difference. We love this Paul Finch ring with a diamond between two folds of silver and yellow gold.

And for £425 we're sure your fiancé won't complain.

We also love the Shona Carnegie Triple Spin wedding ring, which is made from 18ct yellow gold and contrasting slim spinning bands in 18ct white gold. It costs £850.

Bespoke wedding ringIf your struggling to find an engagement/wedding ring with a little bit of a difference, then you may be pleased to hear about these new designs by Kimberley Selwood.

The British designer has come up with a range of creations that will help your ring stand out in a crowd, especially if your other friends have decided to get married/engaged at around the same time as you.

We love the bespoke trilogy diamond wedding and engagement set (pictured), which has a beautiful platinum ring, with three diamonds. Underneath it sits a band with tiny diamonds.

Brides that want something that little bit more special can also ask this lovely designer to help them create their own ring including selecting your diamonds or gemstones and setting.

And to the ladies out there who are waiting in anticipation for that special question, we suggest you leave the website open for him when he gets home (yes I will be guilty of doing this). After all we're only showing him what it is we like.

eternal-platinum.jpgDiamonds may be forever, but couple them up with a platinum band and you've got a match made in heaven that will certainly outlast anything you and your partner might get up to on earth! Platinum is a great choice if you like the 'whiteness' of silver, but want something more hard-wearing and less prone to flaws, so if you've decided this is the metal for you, you might want to check out a new exhibition showcasing platinum bands from some of the world's top jewellery designers, fashion designers and even architects.

Eternal Platinum will run throughout Coutts London Jewellery Week, 8th - 12th June. from at I.N.C Space, Covent Garden.

"Mengagement" ring by H. Samuel

HS Men's engagement ring.jpgUntil 1884, in England, a woman was officially listed as one of her husband's possessions. How times have changed! H. Samuel have just become the first chain in the country to sell engagement rings exclusively for men. The ring available from the H. Samuel website, is called the "Tioro" - a chunky titanium band set with a subtle diamond. Although popular in parts of Scandinavia and Basque regions of Spain they have (until now) been are a rare sight in Britain.

The retailer believes the demand for a male engagement ring is partly down to equality with more women than ever proposing to their fellas, as well as being a clear symbol that the man is "off the market"! As H. Samuel's buying controller Natasha Gregory explains, "the men's engagement ring is a clear message to everyone that the man is going to be married and also works perfectly for civil partnerships". Interestingly she goes on to say "over 60% of our customers think it's a good idea for women to ask men to marry them." Really?! Maybe I'm just a bit old fashioned but I'm not sure I'd want to be the one asking. What's your verdict? Tell us in the poll below!

Snowflake ring.jpgIt looks more like the Arctic than London outside my window - snow in deep fluffy drifts as far as the eye can see! In honour of the white stuff I thought I'd show you this lovely snowflake ring, £145 from Pure Jewels. If you're having a winter wedding and can afford to splash out it would make a great gift for the bridesmaids. Or for you to wear on your right hand as a little extra bling!

Tiffany valentines.jpg

I'm sure it's hardly surprising to see a bunch of Tiffany valentine gifts given the time of year. But, they do produce some great pieces of jewellery and usually there's something to please everyone. There are plenty of hearts and charms which are eternally popular but it you want to find something more individual have a look at the single initialled Love Notes pendant (£115) or the blue leather journal (£95).

Failing that, I hear they do a nice line in rings...

StarJewellers.jpgWell, research released today certainly seems to think so. The credit crunch is behind a unexpected flurry of weddings in 2009 revealed a survey from Star Jewellers of Hatton Garden. Backing up the research is data from the Office for National Statistics which has found the national marriage rate actually increases around periods of recession with the biggest surge being during 1940, with 470,549 marriages recorded, which coincided with the early days of WWII and the depression.

As people are staying at home more, the survey finds, "couples are spending more time together and relationships are developing more quickly, accelerating to the point of engagement." Lets hope for a set of wonderful 2009 weddings then!
